Hi mates...i found this new little restaurant in Jomtien...and i can tell you that I have never eaten so good in Pattaya. this is very small but have a italian chief that kitchen so good! if you go there you must have time because you order and he do fresh for you....nothing from freezer....also he make lasagna with pasta homemade.....not have many courses for choose but what you find that day is fantastic. also they make large portions and the prices are very cheap. is small place but very elegant and quiete. can smoke also inside. also have thai food very nice from chief thai. i'm sure that if you like italian food and you try this little restaurant you will be satisfied and you will come back there many time. i'll try to make some pics tomorrow for show you this nice and quiete place.

RESTAURANT CARPE DIEM - INSIDE VIEW TALAY 1 - TAPPRAYA RD.

You must enter inside View Talay 1 from Tappraya rd. and look on the right. this is the first shop that you see.

Try and tell here if i told the truth. i just try all italian restaurant in Pattaya but never been so good and cheap. you can ask for Sandro, the owner, he will be happy to advise you.

I am sure i am not alone but I really hate the American style Pizza so often served in Pizza Hut etc.

I found a superb Italian restaurant in Soi 33 in Naklua. As you go from Dolphin rotary onto Naklua Road you will see a bar sign "So What" - Soi 33 is there - it is the first soi on your right as you go into Naklua Road.

Restauarant name is Piola.

The Pizzas are the soft thin crust original Italian style. Excellent.
The pasta dishes are good to. The seafood pasta is a large serving with plenty of shell food.

It is owned by a charming Italian Swiss gentleman

I found Toscana rather ordinary. There's an Italian restaurant on 2nd Road near Soi Diana that I prefer. Forget the name, but the sign outside looks a bit like Robert De Niro trying to eat spaghetti with his hands. I'll admit the sign doesn't do much for me, but their pasta and meat dishes are good.

I have never been impressed by the Toscana, I've tried the place three times now, although twice at the request of a friend, and I've never been overly impressed. The staff are Ok, the wine is OK, the food is OK, the layout and atmosphere are a little more than OK, but the prices and food portion sizes are not good.

For me the place is a little showy, a lot of guys trying to impress their dates (who still order from the Thai menu), or non-mongers trying to pretend the holiday brochure for Pattaya wasn't misleading.

It reminds me of a Woody Allen joke, lady one 'the food here is terrible', Lady two 'yes, and such small portions!'.

I don't eat much Italian and the two best Italian meals I've had are at places I can't remember the name off. Maybe someone can help..

The best pasta dish I had was in Naklua, in a soi not far from the Dolphin roundabout, between there and the VIP beer bars. It was on the same soi that housed Boutique Sexy before it moved.

The best pizza I had (by a long shot) was on Soi Xzyte, (last visited 2 months ago). It's a tiny place, almost hidden even on that small soi, between soi buakaow and the grass bowls club. It's now even more hidden by that bizarre Gladiator statue. Proper thin crust, heavy topping Roma style, superb..

Sounds like the Pasta place was in Soi 33 off Naklua Road. La Grotta I think. Many German restaurants in the same Soi

I enjoy the food there and also recommend the Pizzas

Have look high and low, and low and high, for this Italian restaurant in Soi Buakow
after turning left from Soi Diana.
Is it on the right hand side of the road -heading toward Pattaya Klan, or on the left ?
Does the unsigned street lead to the "Bowling Green" ?
Info gratefully received.

La Giotta is in Soi 33 which is off naklua Road - NOT Soi Bukhouw.

2nd Road Dolphin Rotary - going North - 50 mtrs on your right is Soi 33

Hello Guys

I suggest Ristorante Volterra an Italian restaurant hidden into a lateral soi of Soi VC ... Yensabai, the gay bar area, and you really need a compass for to find location.

http://www.ristorantevolterra.tk/

The restaurant as you can see by photo its very simple and a little bit old fashion style, but its very clean, and the owner Mike, he's a Real "Executive Chef" not a chef by slapdash job.

I paid 600Thb for Spaghetti alle vongole, guazzetto di gamberetti and soda water.

Yeah, very good food in an appropriate price/quality relation.
Not necessarily fancy / hip , but nice. Same as in Italy, the chef is more important than the "ambiente"! Seems to have a good number of regulars -expats, business man- who prefer value for money above show-off.

By the way: ideal for a stop-over when going to Famous bar.

i found it incidentally, when going to Famous. Just go north on Soi VC and look in the side streets on the right, it is ca. 70m on the left of the side-Soi, look for the Green-White-Red like the italian flag.
