Skytrain help: Bangkok Airport to Nana Station

My search on the forum didn't yield much except a thread that was about a year old regarding this subject.
Apparently there is service from the airport into the city but you have to change trains as they're not the same type trains.
Anyone ever done this on the Skytrain? Is it simply not worth the hassle if you're carrying a piece of luggage etc?
Cost?
I'm guessing a taxi is more expensive but sometimes when you figure out the "time/money/hassle factor" equation, it's worth paying a bit more for the taxi option.
Thanks for any input.

im sure someone has used this service, maybe even Jimbo of C&D's if my memory serv's me right. But for 300 baht in a meter taxi off level 1 of Airport on arrivel wont hurt the spending funds.

take the airport train not sure which floor but easy to find and stay on 'till phaya thai and change there, 4 stops later you are at nana
here is a link to the webpage with big map. Its easy and cheap better than 400baht for a longgggggg slowwwww ride into town!

To use the airport train.
1) take the express train, at Makhasan station walk to the subway (across the street), take subway to Asoke, transfer to skytrain, 1 stop to Nana
2) take the local train to Phaya Tai station and connect to Skytrain from there.
Option 1 will end up costing 200 Baht, require you to walk your bags to the train, to the subway, and then upto the skytrain. Time wise, probably slower than a cab
Option 2 is cheaper, but takes a lot more time.
I took the train once, and all I had was a backpack. I won't bother ever again, not to save 100 Baht.

Suggest one cabin bag and one check-in bag. Depending on the time, the Skytrain and the airport train can be crowded, so more bags can be a bother. Worked fine the last time I rode it...

Thanks Dutch, that puts it just out of my range. I arrive 11:05, and by the time I clear immigration, find my GF, give her a kiss or two, and get down to the train level, we might just miss the last trip. Taxi will have to do. Better for cuddling anyway. And easier with the luggage.

So when I traveled further on to Chiang Mai. I tried plan B: Take a taxi to Makkasan-Station and then catch the airport train to the Airport. The taxi driver honestly did not find the entrance to Makkasan Station, and drove on to Ramkhamhaeng Station.
Finally, when I came back from Chiang Mai to Bangkok I tried it the other way around. I took the airport train from the Airport to Makkasan Station (which is a huge and modern Station) and headed for the taxi rack. There were already 10 other falang waiting. Within 30 minutes one (!!!) Taxi arrived. So I took my 20kg suitcase and carried it about 300m to the main street.
Travelling is always and adventure …

But if you have big luggage or not easy to carry luggage, less then 10 euro's of 8 pounds, taxi is a better idear, if you still want to save on the taxi, take on from the departure level, since they are eager to take you.

But as mentioned, only a good idea if you have no more than two carry ons. I take a backpack
and my computer and use the link all the time.
You can also take the Express and it goes to Phaya Thai without stopping for b100. But from there only
b25 to Nana on the Skytrain. Swear by it, especially for short trips. Which reminds me, anyone ever
done the train/bus thing BKK to PKT?
