ok dudes, i am pretty fed up now, been back from LOS since 19th May 2011, i was ok for a few days then from memory got diarrhea first, i also felt nausea's at imps and on a few od occasions over the next few weeks i was sick. But my main problem was every 7 days or so i was to put it crudely …pissing from my arse!
This went on for over a month, in fact jumping forward to tonite it might be the new medication or it's back again right now!
For most of this time i could not say how i felt except i just didn't feel right.
Then somewhere around 6 weeks ago i started getting a spotty rash, it itched like crazy and if or rather when i scratched the skin it often took the tops off the spots and made them red, not really bleeding just red tops.
So, off i go to the doctors, they gave me some 'anti itch' cream and another tablet which i am not sure now what it was. It was a 2 week course and at the end of it i was itching even more!
So today back i go and see a different doctor who was really helpful as well as slightly taking the piss….yes, he asked me if i had seen hangover2 so we had a great conversation including ladyboys.

The rash, now nearly 3 months later is all over my waist, tops of legs arms and general other areas, although my genatel's are at least fine. Night times are the worst, perhaps i have more time to notice and scratch?

So i told him the only thing i can put it down to…..yes i drank the street water….3 times! i was out with lb.'s having food from the streets and i just thought 'when in Rome' the doctor said 'why on earth would you do that' ?

So now i have a cream called Lyclear dermal cream which i have put all over my body then tomorrow i have to shower it all off tomorrow, change the sheets, wait 7 days then do it all again. Along with that i have a one a day fexofenadine hydrochloride which although i have only taken one i am hoping this is what has got me 'moving again' 3 times tonight in fact.

Sorry to go one about this, but if it stops me and anyone else from ever drinking the water (4 times tonight now) then its been a job worth typing.

Can i tablet have such an effect on me ?

The doctor did say he had come across this once before and he advised me to stop looking on the internet at tapeworms and the like cous it will scare the shit out of me.

Possible causes as far as i can see are in no particular order; street water, the jabs i had before i left, hepA,B, typhoid or licking ladyboy arse

any thoughts or comments, i am due to hit Amsterdam on 2nd sept with Spicer77 so hopefully the spots will be gone then or i will have to keep my trousers up when i get my cock out

So, come on …hands up who else has drunk the street water and had similar experience ? and or when will it all end????

reading your post this has been going on for some time. if your GP can't come up with what it is, and his management of your ill health is not getting results then get a 2nd opinion. I see your from UK so you probably watched that fascinating series from the tropical diseases hospital.

do you mean you sat at a street cart and ate food and drank from a metal cup wit water n ice allready provided ? rather than pour the water from a bottle itself ?

I normally get a dose of the shits when i get home due to change of food / climate but never get it going ? so must be in the water or what they wash the food with as ive been checked and checked and even had my shit checked and nothing !! and ive told my doc everything !!

I think a Thai Doctor would have the experience to better deal with your problem. Doctors in the UK just do not have the experience with LOS diseases. Try going to an Asian Doctor in the UK. My brother got sick in Bali from eating chicken from a street vendor ... he was sick for months afterwards.

I used to eat charcoal pills every day, drank nothing but bottled Coke Zero (the only liquid no bacteria or virus could ever live in  ), first time I was in LOS I never even ate Thai food at all… Nowadays I eat on stalls even X don't like since food looks not clean, I always drink free water from metal cups you get when you order food, last time I even drank leftover water from previous customer, X told me it wasn’t mine but I was too preoccupied with Yellow Curry to notice. I also stopped eating charcoal pills… and I had only one problem. Either I'm lucky or I'm just used to Thai food. Only time I got poisoned was when I went out with Lisa and got poisoned by french-fries in McDonalds near Nana entrance.

Diamonddog,

Original onset was obvious intestinal dysbiosis problem (bacterial gut imbalance). You can get stool sample tests done at doctors office to check for yeast and parasites if you want.
If it were I with these symptoms I would
1) eat 3-4 pieces of minced raw garlic with every meal. Mince and swallow with food , no need to chew. This will help kill off some of the bad guys.
2) Take the most complete probiotic nutritional supplement ( friendly gut bacteria) you can find 2-3x day on an empty stomach. Check the local health food stores in the refrigerated section.

Personally I would take a product called Garden of Life "Primal Defense" from the states. http://www.healthfoo...al-defense.html
http://www.amazon.co...t/dp/B000GWKA2K I had great results with this product with results starting in 2 days.
Good luck,,,,

Without being specific I have Medical qualifications, proper ones. I used to work for the NHS, and then worked in the Middle East. There is absolutely no point in people trying to diagnose your symptoms here.
Go get yourself screened. You may have to push and be persistent with your requests with your GP. They don,t like spending their budget. Push them. It may not give an answer, but may rule things out. Some tropical related conditions are very very difficult to pin down, if that is what is causing your problems, it may not. Get yourself screened by the experts.

i had a dose last trip and fixed it with one imodium tablet which stops everything in its tracks and
i took a course of ten zithromax just to be sure of killing the nasties in there - worked very well.
also took salt sachet to restore fluids in the body.
your problem may be largely due to dehydration as you lose a lot of fluids if you dont stop the
diarrhea very quickly - also you lose lots of nutrients / vitamins etc.
some people also recommend whiskey or brandy for chronic cases = i had a friend who was ill for
nearly two years (trip to egypt) and finally he took some chartruese liquer and it went away immediately

Sounds very unpleasant. Every Ladyboys arse should be tatooed with the message "Licking this may seriously damage your health" . If this was me I would get myself screened at the Hospital for Tropical Deseases, as already wisely suggested.above. Its unrealistic to expect GPs to know everything.

Good Luck!.

@Daimonddog

Well you are a stone drop away from me , but here in The Netherlands i feel that the docters take such case a little bit more serious then those in the UK !!!

If you where living her you will have notice that the docter will have send you to a skin specialist a long time ago , and he will have send you to the hospitaal to take blood samples , that is the only way for them to see what is going on beaneath your skin.
If i where you i will insist on going to a skin specialist and let him take a good look at what you have , 3 month`s is to long now , take more action my friend....

thanks, i have been going back and forth, even tried different doctors to get another viewpoint, went 2 days ago and have to do another blood test tomorrow, but did blood test and stool sample 4 weeks ago and …apparently …all normal!

only reason i put it here was to see who else got what and a few good replies have been received, cheers to you all.

Now i am off for a late night scratch

Diamond, JCS is probably on the mark. I'm a nurse in a tropical area, we use lycear a lot to treat scabbies, which is pretty east to catch. If its that the lyclear and hygiene regime the doctor has recommended will clear it pretty quick...whats coming out the other end won't be related, probably just a bad dose of water borne bacteria. The Dr should have asked for a sample to get cultured so that the correct antibiotic could be prescribed, as different strains vary in their sensativity. So if they didnt do that and it continues, I'd go back and ask to have it done, because there's some pretty nasty bacteria out there.

Oh and if its scabbies, you won't see them. They come out at night while you are sleeping, which is why you put it on before bed, and change sheets etc in the morning.
