Hi guys,

I just want to issue a warning about two thieving scumbags cruising around with a motorbike early in the morning looking for drunk farangs. They operate in the area Soi Diana/Soi Buakaw. Well, one night the found a drunk farang and that was me. It was about four o'clock in the morning when they approached me and told me I should go with them for some fun and they didn't want any money. My alarm bells should have started ringing by then but I was drunk and horny and didn't think about the risks. Stupid, I know.

They took me to a short time hotel not far from Soi Buakaw but I've never been in that area. We went upstars undressed and took a shower together. I went into bed and one on the gave me a nice massage. After a time I looked around and while one of them was massaging me the other one was going through my pant pockets.

That brought me back to my senses. I got up grabbed by stuff and ran naked down the stairs. On the way down I got dressed as good as I could and once outside I took the next mororbike taxi to take me back to my hotel. When I arrived at the hotel and wanted to pay the driver I noticed that all my money was gone, including the coins. I had to borrow 40 Baht from the reception to pay the taxi. My mobile phone was gone too. It was a cheap phone I bought for 900 Baht but the SIM card with all my contacts was gone. Luckily I didn't have much money mith me, about 2500 Baht.

The driver of the two was average built with long hair, the other one was tall and skinny with curly hair that looked like a wig. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of them.

Be careful out there.

I can't believe non of us guys warned the newbies about this thing...
LB's on a bike been doing this for years...They just ride round the town after hours,looking for a drank falangs, you know ,the ones just about can stand-up...and been robing them..
Few times they tryed it with me well..But I wasn't thet drank..

well, there have been enough warnings about not getting too drunk, as well as against having two girls, as well as against letting them choose you instead of you choosing them, as well as against going to places where they don't check IDs.

They chose me : Guilty
Going to places that dont take ID : Guilty

Have I been robbed before : Yes, but not from the above, I was pickpocketed in the street though by a Beach Rd LB.

This thread is a great reminder for us all.

Seriously, thanks for the reminder, but sorry it's from experience. I had two LBs attempt the same thing, but they didn't get away with it. I was somewhat off guard since we were at their apartment, and I assume they would have taken only enough that I wouldn't notice, since I'd know where they lived. After being chatted up by another LB late one evening and finding a hand in my pocket, I just steer clear of them on the street.

Go back the short time room report that you was robbed in the room give a discription and find out who was on the desk that night,mabye not help but at least report it to the ST room so the reception can no next time the robbing bitches go there again,unless as stated the ST place is in on it too and takes a cut.

I would say next time I complain at the reception, but there will be no next time. I hope.

hehe. when they approach me I bury ma hands in my pockets where the cash and phone are.
Sometimes I can see a faint disappointed grimace for a quarter of second.

think it was my last trip, soi8 beach road, there was an indian guy who was walking around like mr t (asking for trouble), when he was talking to his mate a thai man just ripped the necklace off him, and then jumped onto the back of a moped, and scooted off.
i used to wear the watch and jewellery in patts, but not now.

Best LB thieves in the world ... they are talented, often good looking, and smooth. Be careful. I spend a lot of time in Saigon... at least twice a year for extended stays. And generally I go to Pattaya for my LB encounters. The whole LB ethic in Saigon is a bit confrontational, kleptocratic and scary IMHO. You may find some nice LBs, but I've tried and been disappointed 100% of my tries.


Most commonly you find them downtown ... two to a motorbike ... they will quickly stop to try to get you to come with them for a tryst. I've never had my wallet picked so fast and so skillfully ... several times.



Now that said, I normally carry a 'throwaway' wallet when walking around with a minimal amount of cash and nothing else.



I also like to play a game with Saigon LB's on bikes. I'll look interested and let them ride up to me (they will typically get on to the sidewalk to get intimate) and then when they are on top of my, whip out my camera. I did this with one ladyboy who was already feeling me, and I think she got pissed at me ... without a blink, she kissed me a took off ... I immediately realized that she had gotten my wallet in that moment. She roared off on her motorbiked, stopped across the boulevard, took the cash out, roared back over to me and without stopping threw the empty wallet at me. I've never seen anything so smooth!!



Anyway, good for entertainment, but I never take a ladyboy home in Saigon. It's just too tough for little old me!
