I just came across this useful piece of free software. Just install it on your machine, and if it gets stolen you can activate it and get the location of your property. It has many features including taking photos of the thief and locking down your equipment so it cannot be used etc. Maybe some of you have used it before, any reports?

Of course, the most famous use of laptop tracking software was at this site ... which quickly went viral :Rolling:

Never heard of it before but the computerworld review seems pretty good.
Might try it myself and see how it goes.

I know you can track iPhones through the Apple software. I assume same for most smart phones. Can also remotely delete all content etc.

There are a number of companies now that provide this. I think Apple still has the best system. They are even using it to track the iPhone 5 prototype that they just lost (at a bar, no less ... deja vu all over again)

I have a similar program on my computer. It's part of a paid for program.
