I quite like Japanese food, though I will probably mostly eat Thai on my trip since I love it. Any recommendations for Japanese food? I spotted a place called Yamato (Chain?) near La Bamba on the Pattaya photo guide, Any good? I'll be staying at the Tim Hotel.

Benihana Restaurant in the Royal Garden shopping mall, off of 2nd Road next to the Marriott Hotel.
Located upstairs by the International Food Court where you may also find Japanese food being served.
There is also an International Food Court in Central Festival, though I am not sure if they serve Japanese food.

I eat at the Yamoto restaurant and have always enjoyed a meal there. I mush prefer to the big chains like Fuji/Zen. The restaurant is owned by a Thai lady who was married to a Japanese chef.
Benihana is fun but not really traditional Japanese - more a Western interpretation.

There are several Japanese restaurants on the 4th floor of Central Festival mall. I've never eaten there but the one with the big sushi bar next to the escalator is always crowded.
