I know this maybe a stupid question but I would like to bring 2 bottles of Tequila 1 for a friend & 1 for myself I'm pretty sure that LOS will not have Don Julio 1942 so i would like to bring them there both 1 fifth ea I've been looking on the Thai gov website but all they say is 1 liter but not how much it would cost if I bring more. Has anyone ever tried to bring their own liquor ? Any help would be appreciated Thanks!

I've brought in as many as 10 bottles of my wine in my luggage, I just snuck it in and walked thru the "green" nothing to declare line at the airport.
In all my trips I have never been searched, or even seen anyone get searched by customs.
I have no idea what the tariff would be if you actually tried to pay it, Thai customs is famous for having arbitrary rates so they can collect a bribe for a low rate. It could be as much as 200%.

I' ve been thinking of bringing my favorite vodka. Chopin. I couldn't find it anywhere last time I was there.
Good question.

Go through the red channel and tell the guy you have one extra bottle for a friend and ask him how much is the tax. Odds are for just one bottle he will just say "mai pen rai" and wave you through. However that is not recommended for 10 bottles. I have done this approach couple times in the past but it was a few years ago and things may have changed. Through green, they are now apparently x-raying a lot more luggage.

As mardhi says, if you only have 1 extra bottle, best to declare it.
Out of 5 trips, I have been asked to x-ray my luggage once. Thankfully I had nothing to hide...that time...
