Hi..
I recently read local news here on the other side of the world about the flood crisis in Thailand just now. From what I've read they expect it to get worse before it gets better. Bangkok is threated to be flooded, and there's congestion on roads due to flooded roads.
Here's an example link with info:

I've failed to dig up any information of whether this affects travel between Bangkok airport and Pattaya, or whether it is a crises in Pattaya too. Any BM's currently down there that know anything about this?.. I just caught this news just after booking my flight, and was wondering if I could run into any problems I should prepare for.

Most of the problem as far as I have been told is that the waters from up North are heading down the Chao Phraya river and causing the flooding. The North is getting hit hard, but I think Pattaya is safe for now.

I heard Chiang Mai's nightlife area was closed awhile due to flooding and a LB friend's sister can't
work because the factory is under water. I hope it stops before I get there.

you should have no problems getting from Bangkok to Patts however there was some bad downpours when i was in Patts last week when i was finishing off a 24day stay there, however after a few hours or over the evening things have cleared up again and things are back to norm...... but water around some soi was getting up to around 2 to 3 feet and more at times!!! Pattaya is fine. When it rains some of the Sois do 'flood' but the water goes nearly as quickly as it came. The problem with tropical rain is that it causes 'flash' floods
- the downpour is just too large for the drainage to cope.
There is another problem looming - I do not live in Pattaya Central but in the suburbs. In the last week I notice many items missing in our local 711's and Tesco Lotus (Supermarkets). Obviously the floods near Bangkok are affecting distribution nationwide.
