I looked at LK Empress during it's soft opening and it wasn't cheap then. It looks nice but still around 3,000 THB for cheapest room on Agoda.

Thanks, usually with a group I stay at Dynasty Inn.
Noise is not an issue for me so I like to get balcony right on Soi 13, the beer bar across the street always has nice live band.
When I go alone I tend to pamper myself more.
A little more than I like to pay but still not bad for a balcony right on beach road and water.

....heres a little tip thats worth knowing about LK group......go to their website and sign up as a member(its free)....once youve confirmed,go back to the website and log on....you should now see some substantial discounts on room rates,in some cases up to 50%!!!

....just a little tip worth knowing......

When I was in Pattaya last week I actually went by for a look, they were very gracious and showed me around the property and even a room since they were not full.
Beautiful property, I will stay once in a while, cannot afford to on each trip but worth the splurge on occasion.

Yes i realised after i posted that i had forgotten to add taxes, but anyway last year LK metro was 1500. 1700 is a bit steep

Don't know about the Empress, but the LK Rennaissance definitely is LB friendly. I imagine the Empress is as the other LK properties are too.

I'll be curious to hear your review of the Empress. I like the Rennaissance very much and stayed several times, but would be open to trying a different location. I've been curious about The Metropole up the road from Rennassaince. But it seems a larger, more mass market property- not my gig. I've observed the LK Group's hotels as designed/constructed to a high standard, finished well, which makes them less noisy, prone to mold and to having mechanical issues etc. The staffs have been up to good standards for Thailand. I believe that LK offers some of the best properties in Pattaya.
