Android is so-so as OS but Chinese tablets without capacitive touch screen ain't worth plastic they are made of. Did I mention no navigation software works (not even Sygic, hangs after a minute or two), and screen... you need mallet to type and forget any speed 10 finger typing... more like 1 or 2 words per minute... Angry birds hangs every time... And Superpad III got good scoreson forum, what do cheap shit Chinese pads look like I don't even want to speculate.
I wouldn't buy it ever again. Never..... Sure....

iPad2 is great, but $500 and often the same apps are cheaper or free on Android. $200 gets you a Kindle Fire, or one of the discounted Playbooks, HPs or other major makers. All are dual core with solid reliable wrappers on their native Android / Linux. Best to buy them in the States, though pricing is normalizing now throughout the world.

Hey .... you talkin' ta mee? (does a Fonzie)
I've ordered a Kindle ... the thing that most attracts me is Silk, their browser ... this loads a lot of work into EC2, including some really nice predictive loading built into A9 ... it should speed up Internet search many times in an organic way, and I bet would especially be noticeable in places like Thailand where the Internet is dodgy

If you wanna be a real cheapskate buy a kindle they do absolutely squat,no WP capability,no decent gaming.

Got ipad 2, seen 3 its a little faster and better resolution, but I think the ipad 2 is excellent as is, a sheer rise from the ipad 1.
It runs faultlessly like the iphone and never crashes, I bought android one for parents before, it got my mother in a right mess and crashed and hassle, got her an ipad 1 now as she slow and old anyways and it works a dream.
So if you can afford go for ipad 3 if not ipad 2 is more than adequate, its a fantastic travel tool and the apps are pretty cheap too

Should have asked me about the Ipad 3. I have had all generations of he Ipad including the 3 which I brought with me on this trip. The 3 does have a slightly better resolution but it is not noticable on many sites. I thought the Wifi connectivity was better on the 2 (apple is aware of the Wifi problem as here have been many complaints, and it is supposed to be fixed with the next software update). If purchasing, and you do not already have a 2 or 3, the 3 is well worth the US 500 -800 price tag (the 3 is now priced at the same cost as the 2 when it was released, and the 2 is about US 100 cheaper for each model). If you have a 2, I would wait for the next generation as the upgrades to the 3 are barely discernable (also maybe its just my 3 but the keyboard often skips input on the letter t when typing fast, just saying).
I agree that the Galaxy Pad cannot compare.
