Took over 600 pics and when I get home camera or pc cant see the card, keep getting asked to format card.

Anyone know a way I can rescue the information on the card?

Can you try it in another computer?

Do they show up if you put the card back in your camera and view the pics that way?

Ah man... that sucks.

Whatever you do... don't format it.

There is some software out there that can recover media from cards... maybe someone else has done this before?

A rescue program I can recommend for flash memory is SanDisk RescuePro - it enables you to create an image of a corrupted SD card (i.e. properly unreadable) to local HDD, which does take quite some time, but then is able to recover files from this image. It came free with SanDisk Extreme III SD card on time-limited basis - sounds like you may need a new memory card now anyway - and I can honestly say it's the best I've come across so far.
Just seen copies on RapidShare and Demonoid, so available by other avenues....

Maybee after my TV appearence, that card was 4GB I used the program you recomended and it recovered about 6GB of Pictures. I had deleted all my China pics off it then formated it, then took some photographs of Liverpool then deleted them, then took some ............. sexy time photos and it crashed. That program managed to recover the China photographs??? How the fuck does that work? If ever I want to permanently delete something now it will be with a blowtorch!
OK 1 in the advanced!

That is why the Police, CIA etc can still get stored Data from drives from people under investigation by using these type of programs ... If you truly want to delete you need to use a blowtorch, like you said.

Recovery programs work well (I like BadCopy best ... it will recover any SD card). Usually what happens is that you have an SD reader (common in Asia) that is not up to spec, so you get a static surge in your SD card which either burns out some of your data, or some of the firmware (but the hardware stays intact).

Do NOT format this. Get the software from www.jufsoft.com/ and see if it works before you buy
