I did look to possibly getting the new one but according to all reports its not worth the expense as it doesnt do much more than the 2, might have a look when I get 5 mins in the AppleStore but I have just bought a imac 27inch, the most awesome machine ever, I am now compatable with all my devices.
Cant believe the difference in price in UK to US at least 20% if not 30% more ,bloody VAT

I was in Pattaya with an iPhone 4s and iPad2 in December (and will do the same again in April). The iPhone 4s, unlocked from a US Carrier, worked fine with a Dtac 3g sim card (cost about 200 baht). In 2 weeks I topped off once for another 200 baht. The iPad2, wifi only, was used at Dtac hotspots, tethered to the iPhone 4s if internet and hotspot were not available, and with my hotel wireless internet without problem. No need to put a separate sim for the iPad 4s. Additionally, to the extent that I you might get a cheaper phone for security, it is unneeded. I carried the iPhone 4s to dozens of cities and bars in Thailand, and always felt safe (the gg and lbs I encountered were rarely interested in the phone). Good luck with the apple tech which works great in Thailand.

The advantage of the 3 is the higher resolution, which for a guy like me who uses it for photos is great.
I can't wait to try Photoshop App on the iPad3

There is no way to upload pics from the iPad to the forum (crap1).
Maybe if the forum added a 'post by email' feature that would work.

I did exactly the same in Oct and November using True Move together with tethered Iphone 4 and Ipad 2.

I will have a lookat the new ipad over the weekend when I get time, not sure on the release date in UK ,I would like to get my hands on one for a comparison test.

just checked online now they are released in UK 17thMarch, cant believe 2 fucking idiots sat outside Apple Store in Regents St ,London so they can be the 1st to have one, bloody retards sat in the cold.

Ref the issue with loading photos, not possible as the ipad doesn't have a hard drive etc to pick out. I tried and had to use my PC to load pics. Sadly I have the original but I love it as I travel for work.
If someone knows a work around please let us know!

The issue isn't lack of a hard drive, the ipad has 16-64GB which acts just like a HD.

The problem is that safari web browser on the iPad/iPhone doesn't support uploading.
Sites like facebook allow you to upload photos thru custom app, photos can be selected from the 'camera roll' or any photo album.

There are different browsers you can use and rumors say that at least for Twitter, Facebook and Gmail you can upload pictures via iCab Mobile (http://www.icab.de/mobile.html). There might also be several other options if Safari does not work. I would also recommend to Jailbreak your device if you can since Apple tends to "lock down" their devices more than I like.

I read the comment about how great "everything Apple is". I got iPhone 4, iPad2, Macbook Pro and iMac but the only product that stands out for me is the iPad2.

I've replaced the iPhone with an Android phone and I can do everything I used to do on my jailbroken iPhone and more. I have multiple laptops and I agree the Macbook Pro got decent hardware but I most of the time end up using my Lenovo Thinkpad or my Samsung Ultraportable. For desktop pc the iMac is ok, but I hardly use desktop pc unless I do gaming so I use my Windows gaming pc most of the time. I have tried several other tablets but so far I'm extremely happy with the iPad and none of the earlier Android tables I've tested is as good. This might have changed with the newer Android versions.

I admit I'm a tech geek and buy too much crap but to be honest I do not see the greatness of all these Apple products. iPad is great but the other products are ok, but overprices in my opinion. I buy these products because I really want to like them, but so far I don't see anything that I cannot do on Android/Windows platform.

I have had the ipad2 since Christmas and if I am honest I keep opening my mac book pro, it does so much more, but if it ever resolved the flash player and photo upload the iPad would be hard to beat.
can you not upload from Dropbox on the iPad ?????
