I was talking to a guy in there from near me, and he mentioned that it might fuck up your PC if you forget to update your anti virus.
Just wondering , before i buy any, if any BMs have any past experiences?
Cheers

I have found viruses more common with disks that contain dozens of programs (like a video utilities disk), than with disks for a single program (like MS Office or photoshop)

Regarding the virus issue - most software requires the installer to run a crack or patch to fudge it into being 'registered', and often times your anti-virus software won't like this as it is writing to system files. You can tell your AV to ignore and allow the change, as these are usually false-positives, but nowadays this is also a good method for putting a trojan program on your computer, which can lead to things like your computer unwittingly becoming a zombie and being used by criminals in mass denial of service attacks and other delights.
This latter point is of course worst case, and the majority of AV alerts as I say are false positives, but that's the gamble you take when installing expensive software for free. Torrents are again preferable in this respect, as you can at least read the comments of other downloaders to see if they had any issues, and take a judgement based upon those.
Lastly, I have no idea what the legal issue is, but nowadays with DVDs it must be very easy to be effectively smuggling $000s worth of contraband, and I imagine that might not go down too well if discovered at any airport. If you feel compelled to do this, you might want to first consider copying onto hard disk or flash drives and ditching the optical disks, but again not totally risk-free.

I agree with DonqyJon as there are comments posted along with every file available on torrent sites which tell you the good, bad, and the ugly.
Try http://isohunt.com or http://btjunkie.org/ or just use Google and search for "torrent". I quit buying software years ago due to the quality and availability of software on torrent sites. -Swedeman007

The biggest torrent site on the net is thepiratebay but that also gets the biggest surveillance. There are Private Trackers which are safer but I read that they require an invitation.

Don't let the detective threats scare you. I have TBs of music and software, have been downloading torrents on public torrent sites and have never had a problem. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet, especially as it relates to piracy. Mr. SN

I have a friend being chased at the moment for downloading shemale torrents that's why I warn. Surprisingly BT is a good isp for fole sharers. They only have a few ip's for all their customers so it is extremely difficult to identify a user from their ip.
I mod a site so we are always watching what is happening.
