What do you think the best, most comfortable and/or cheapest way to get to Samui from Pattaya?
My assumption is by air, Bangkok Airways... they seem to be the only one running these domestic flights 3000-6000 baht from UTP to Samui airport.
Any better idea? The best is if I book thru their website?

I'm in Pattaya center (around Soi 6-7) what is the most efficient way to get to the airport? Taxi? Should I bargain for like 200 baht fix price?

Thanks,

db

only a few options
U-Tapao -> Samui on Bangkok air. Only a few flights (maybe 1?). You'll have to take a taxi to airport
Bangkok -> Samui, Bangkok Air or Thai Airways. Lots of flights. From Pattaya you can take taxi or Bell Bus.

or do it the hard way and flight Nok or Air Asia, to Surat Thani and take the boat.

Cheapest way....

Bus/Taxi to BKK (Approx 1.5 Hour)
Air Asia to Surat Thani (Approx 1 hours)
Bus/Boat combo to Nathorn Pier on Samui. (Approx 2 hour and last time I did it, around 150 baht)
Taxi the other end.

I didn't say it was the quickest....but when Air Asia have a seat sale, its most definately the cheapest..I got a fare to Surat Thani once for 99 baht all in....

For comfort and ease, take the taxi/Bangkok Air from U-Tapao option. Easiest but also very pricey.

And if you can get a taxi from the center of Pattaya to either airport for 200 baht...I'm sure many of us here would want to know what taxi firm that is

or bus to bkk, then go to train station, buy over night train/bus/boat ticket for around 1300 baht, but that gets you a 1st class sleeper cabin on train, bus at the end and boat to Samui.

so from Patts you could do the lot for under 1500 baht but a long journey !
