On my next trip, i'm thinking of getting all my old mercury laced fillings knocked out and composite white fillings replaced, has anyone had this done in LOS and know the kinda price per filling etc? I had other health work done and Its very cheap of course.

I was at dentist today and was charged £200 for 2 fillings, you could have 10 days worth of 24 ladyboy for that, its a joke!

I had mines done at the BIDC @ Siam Square (opposite MBK).
Only around £20 per filling. Not all fillings are suitable for white remember. If they are quite minor fillings, then they are happy to do it, but if they are quite deep and long, they told me that the white filling has a stronger chance of breaking.
I had a crown done at BIDC the last time and my UK dentist said it was amazing work. Also had 3 white fillings to replace the NHS silver ones. 2 years on and no probs
This dentist has their own labs in Bangkok and their facilities are wayyy better than any UK dentist practice that I have seen.
I would highly recommend.

You have to remember ceramic fillings are not as strong and will break and wear down a lot faster than the old metal sort!!!

But will certainly make you a hansum man Ringers!!!

When you thinking of coming out again?

ringspun, just be careful, as sometimes in the uk the only fillings you can get are mercury ones, as the white fillings are not good for deep decayed holes.

wouldnt touch old filings if they are solid - you have to cut more of the tooth away every time you fill so
it will have no wall left to hold the filling. You might try a crown if a tooth has a lot of filling - but if it is not
leaking or damaged then there is no hurry to do it.

There are two schools of though but do what will please you and give you confidence. Not much loss of tooth in a mercury extraction - most of it is drilling out the old one - ask not for extra drilling just to rem

Another school of thought concerning having a mouth full of mercury is that if you have the old ones removed you can release far more mercury into your system than actually leaving them in place. ??? What to do? But I always go for the white ones now if need another.

Wait til you are nearing death anyways before you get the mercury switched out so that you are exposed to the danger for a lesser amount of time.
