I am an recent convert to Smartphones(have an iphone 4s) so i am looking for some Applications to download, preferably free!!!

I any guys can recommend some i would be grateful.

They can be anything from Games to workout routines etc.

Just downloaded the Kayak app, which seems like it could be useful and of course i already have Angry Birds!!!

There is an app for this site, terry ribs posted it but I can't find it right now, also the around me is one I use a lot and it's free. Flashlight is a very bring torch, valuable in many ways and lastly I use XE currency converter which I find excellent to convert any currency anywhere in the world.....and the best thing is they are all free

flipbook - tell this apps your likes (sports, photography, pattaya, etc) one time and everyday it collects and endless amount of info on those subjects and puts it in an easy to read format.
Appbox - currency conversion, language translation, other tools
ip.board - a front end for forums like this one, LULT and TT use it.
Agoda - make reservations and use the online copy to check into room
dropbox - drag and drop files, pics into this app and they are stored in the cloud and are immediately synced to your home computer
anote - keep a calender type diary of your TR with a password

p.s. Shazam, as mentioned above by Solice, is an amazing free app, give it a try. I used it in patts to record (tag) music in bars and waited until I was near wifi to have it identified because I had data roaming OFF. Gonna try several of those others Solice has mentioned.

Kayak is really awesome, as you can forward your receipts from any bookings to @kayak.com and it auto enters them on your account, where you can see even the gate being updated and the flight you are waiting for's location, i.e if its on return from Los to UK for pickup, which is great.  Also has a packing list the lot.

Air Asia - for any inter flights, this does away with even e- tickets now as you hold up bar code Q on phone and it scans it!
Xe - Money exchange
Whatsapp - as Solice mentions, its like having text but any country and FOC
Skype
Viber - although bit flakey sometimes
Daily Mail App - Downloads paper on wifi and can read anytime off wifi

Remember to turn off your roaming when in LOS or you'll end up with a huge phone bill for 3G!

Iblacklist.  This is a firewall program (call blocker) that maintains separate SMS and call logs that are hidden behind a user chosen icon and label.  It is highly customizable and the phone makes nil noise when it receives a call or an SMS.  It has the ability to assign different answering methods (busy, answer/hangup, out of the country tone etc) to individual numbers and is ideal for those 4am calls of desperate P4P workers that missed out for the night.  It is also password protected for those that need their private correspondence to remain just that.  You need to have jailbroken Iphone and you access this 3rd party application via Cydia.  It costs $12 USD and is the best money I have ever spent on any phone app.  The number lists and all records can be backed up in Itunes for changing over to a new phone.

This beats every other phone app I have.  For the peaceful nights sleep concept alone it is ideal.  This enables one to keep the same number and manage your contacts rather than changing  numbers every few months.

Loaded the speak Yhai EN and I like it, it's pretty good cheers

I do development on iOS and Droid. Anyone know what phone models and apps are hot in Thailand -- in particular what the ladies think is hot?   Are there any bar apps? Or do folks just call/SMS?

There is a menu for Travel. Shopping, Flirting etc etc

www.gayromeo.com or www.planetromeo.com has a killer smartphone and android tablet app.  I have just installed it on my tablet and it is flawless...lets me save profiles of beautiful ladyboys in phils, so when I arrive....GAME ON
