Will probably charge you 500baht extra for your guest but more importantly, it is a Mariott and you may feel uncomfortable taking a ladyboy back with you. It is 5 star, family and "up-market".

Rooms are quite nice, service is excellent and the pool is beautiful. If you like short times and go home alone it is great. Just think about the visitor aspect before booking.

The Marriott was definitely guest-friendly a few years back, including LBs. I remember reading a TR (maybe not on this forum) featuring Nikki, a LB causing as big a stir as Emma/Amy at the time. Maybe someone with a better memory can confirm the details ?

Guest friendly, no problem, no charge even for more than one.
Get a room in the garden wing, get in thru the beach road entrance.
Took a GG back on the last night, and the night guard warned me she was not a lb. Lol.

The best hotel in Pattaya, in my opinion and the best located for mongering, too. I am a regular client and I have never had any problem taking with me LB, GG, LB+LB, LB+GG. It has also a patrolled entrance from walking street.

The Marriott seems to have changed its name to the avani pattaya restort & spa.

Does anyone know if it remains guest friendly?

Which place are you staying?  If it's next to Royal Garden the Marriot has a completely different name now.  AVANI Pattaya.

I work for Marriott and will never stay there in Thailand(even though I get a discount) I can't stand most of the people who stay there(I know why bite the hand that feeds me?) but really I have nothing in common with the people who stay there, so why would I stay with them!

Here is the e-mail from Avani:

Thank you for your email and upcoming visit to AVANI Pattaya,

As part of the government (National Council for Peace and Order) efforts to clean up Pattaya and eradicate prostitution in the interests of public safety and to restore “happiness” we have been instructed by the Thai Hotel Association to enforce a stricter control with “visitors”. Therefore the following rules will be effective May 1st 2017;

Visitor must be registered at the Front Desk. ID card or passport will be checked for the correct name, picture and age of the visitor.
Hotel will not allow any person who is less than 18 years of age and those who does not carry an ID card or passport with them to visit the guest rooms.
A “visitor fee” of 1,000 Baht nett per visitor per day/night.
Guest will be able to settle the fee by cash/credit card or charge to guest’s room and settle upon check out.
Visitor will be escorted to the guest’s room if he/she is arriving alone.
Visitor will be required to leave the hotel premise before noon, and he/she is not allowed to use any of the hotel facilities.

If the reservation is made for two people and you check-in together and register together upon arrival the above (except point 2) will not apply.

to piss off those guest....i do it all the time. intercontinental hotel, marriott and hiltons. i dress and look like a biker. i dont act like what most people would think is a biker. i am a scary looking guy. love the looks i get specially when the guest see the hotel staff loves talking with me. i treat the workers like friends. if i stay long term in a place i actually get to know their names and some about their families.  i have been out partying with a few of them
