(all values in thai-baht - someone who calculates prices in his home currency?? *g*)
this poll assumes you know that you wont get a luxuary hotel for 300baht ... this is not a discussion about "price & performance" ... just the price and your needs
i mean a hotel for 2500+ can offer a grate performance, with its pools, restaurants, service and wellness ... so price & performance is in balance, but do you need it or do you want it ...
guess you have an idea of what i mean :)

in my last trip i payed between 600 and 1000 baht ...
1000 was way to much for me, okay i had a pool and nice facilities but never really needed it (even if "swimming" in the pool, with your companion, around 2:00am is kinda exciting)
fom my past experience would not pay more than 800baht, but only if i have no other good option ...
on my last trip i saw a load of hotels, a nice bargirl showed me a lot of places (she was pretty well know everywhere Posted Image ) ...
there many places i would not sleep in, but there pearls for low rates ...
i ended up in a room for 700baht, had securety, cable-tv, hot water, aircondition, european toilett, roomservice every morning ... good for me :)
they offer a night from 300baht a night (+power), if you stay for 1 month ... a option for me for the future ...

on my next trip i have a room for 3000baht a month (+power) ... have a bed, aircondition ... not know more ... my girl arranged it, she worries i not like because it doesnt offer anything ...
well i not need anything, down there i do not spend to much time in a room or at a pool ... as long as i have a bed and a shower i am fine ... we will see ;) ... living like a thai

i am looking forward to your answers ....

I've had good year, so Im paying about 2500 at Citi Chic in Bangkok and 1800 at August Suites at Pattaya.

I normally go for 1000 baht accommodation.

I want a pool to relax after a night on the sauce and I want a balcony to fuck on :D

on my next trip i have a room for 3000baht a month

100 baht / night ?

I pay 550 baht/night for everything - big room , pc , safe , wi-fi , balcony , BUT no pool . Can usually find a pool close by when I need one . Just off Soi Buckhuaw .

On my last trip I stayed at the Sabai Lodge in Soi 2 for 1,600 baht per night. They have a choice of pools (4, I think) but the room was very noisy right next to the pool and the Soi 2 bars made a noise until about 3.30am. I moved to the Queen Vic in Soi 6 for one week at 800 for a deluxe room. The room was very big and fully equipped so I don't see the need to pay more in future. I will stay there again next trip. It is also very handy for the entertainment! :D :D

I think I used the pool at Sabai Lodge about four times in three weeks so it's not really worth paying for that facility unless you use it more often. As long as the room is clean and has everything I need thenI am happy, as long as it is also close to the fun palaces. I don't want to have to take a long baht bus ride every time I am going out.

I think there is an enough decent accommodation with in 1500 bath at Pattaya.
However, people would have preference on different aspects like accessibility to fun areas and all.
I prefer a place where I can find my hunt at the door step.
I am ready to pay 1500 max. I would prefer for a lower rate hotel, if it is at fun area.

yep ... i guess its a usual, simple and plain "bar-lady residence" ... i dont know ... they pay like 3000 or 4000 a month +~1000 for power, most likely the share the room with 1 or more girls to safe money
have an aircondition, a bed and a bathroom ... all i need
and she said "give me the money, i pay for the room" ... guess she gets a better deal than me ever could ...

but your offer for 550 a night also sounds pretty good ... you have safe on your room, and they have a pc you can use for free? ... sounds like a good deal imo

I have stayed in Dynasty Inn, soi 13 for many years. And have always been very pleased with their hospitality and service.
The price there has been aroun 1200 - 1300B, and a pool on the roof is just what I need in the morning :P
However the last time I stayed with my gf in her town house. Thats very nice too, but no pool in reach, so mornings have to include othere activeties
The house is just behind the friday market in soi Buakaow, close to south Pattaya road. So it is close to everything, and has a little thai kitchen just a few meters away that make food for us, very cheap, genuine and good.
I miss the pool, but have friends that normally stays nearby in condos or hotell so I use their pool :D
Yepp, gonna stay their again in a few weeks  ^_^

This last trip I stayed at R-Con Residence, Soi Bukaow. I had their very best room (so they told me) for 15,000 per month ++.......I enjoyed it there, great location & wonderful laundry however, crap television stations, only one lift for 150 rooms and the shower/toilet cubicle is too small.

Well i got a bit of problem this time with credit crunch and the f..ing pound 50bt now ( it was 65 only few months ago :Angry (With Teeth): )....I always stayed at Sunshine but this trip is a long one 23Days...and Sunshine prices are highseason prices..and Fliper is 1000bt..and far as i know EASTINYs are not LB friendly...sooo
I know if I stay away from Soi7-8 there are some good accm. for lot less.. R-Con Residence....is looking good...but I like it there so this time I'm looking for cheaper place to stay so far I'm thinking of Rosie O'Gradys or Globetrotters Hotel (near Didis bar)..has any one stayed in any of them? and how are they..? I have stayed at Penthouse Hotel on my last 4 trips to Pattaya. Everybody bitches about it, and it is not without it's flaws (Horrible lighting in the rooms being #1), but I have enjoyed all of my stays there. I am thinking of trying a different hotel for my next stay, but I haven't decided yet.

I have been looking at Jasmine or Galaxy, but I am not sure I want to be that close to Walking Street.

Thank's sinnerboy, ain't no way I'd go on holiday staying somewhere like that for very long.
Much too far away from the main action while the room is way too small plus, I can not see any comfort factor in that furniture.
However, I agree the price of 9k per month (high season) is not far away from being about right considering it is furnished, AC, security, swimming pools and the beach is very adjacent.

i have stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort 5 times and have loved it each time!!! 1000-1500 baht depending on room type and time of year...great staff, always spotless (im a clean freak), safe, rooftop pool, nice balance between WS, soi6, LKmetro, etc...explains why they are fully booked so much I guess Im not the only one who loves it.

I also like Secrets (800-900) depending on room type...great for the first 3 or 4 nights so i can do my fair share of STs on WS...hehehe.

However, my perfect hotel would be if I could pick up LK Ren and plop it down on beach road about where the new Festival complex is...and have it for 1200 baht/night (probably never happen, though I did get it for this rate last summer as a walk-up in July in its current location on soi Diana)...the marriott is too expensive and too big for me as i prefer a boutique place that has all the ammenities and plenty of fellow mongers w/o the kiddies makin noise in the pool (i did stay in the Marriott using up points my first trip, but moved after 3 days). I also tried the Hard Rock for 2 days one trip, that was fun, but NOT worth the rate (though the HR is my fav hotel in vegas).

This trip, I think Im going to try the Sheraton as a romantic getaway with a girl from BKK as I want to sorta be out of the way of the action and just hang with her.

Cheers, Alex
