hello all. I need to have a blood checkup. Nothing major just the normal cholesterol and blood sugar type thing.

I know there are probably loads of places in Pattaya but i'd prefer a recommendation from someone rather than to just visit a clinic that wants to sell pills from the attached pharmacy. Even better if there's a doctor who can speak english!

Thanks for any advice

Lifecare can do all these tests for considerably cheaper than a hospital

Also the nurse is very gentle

They don't sell pills as far as I know, only testing so no hard sell, the tests you mentioned are only a few hundred baht.

it is just off 3rd road near the Bali high flyover.

038 488 048 ( they speak English)

I would certainly endorse that recommendation.

I would second Lifecare. If you don't have time to wait for the results they will email them to you. All sorts of tests on offer.

Not sure if they are qualified to gove advice or not though but the results sheets will have your scores with an indicator if you are out of range plus what the range is.

Usually fast as well if you go first thing around 07:30. No waiting.

again thanks to all, went to lifecare this morning, so for the possible benefit to someone who in the future may read this thread, here's what happened.

i got there just before 8 a.m.   Only had to provide my name and age and tell them what tests i wanted.

within 5 minutes, 2 syringes used, one for each test, cholesterol and blood sugar.  was offered the choice of returning for the results after 3 p.m or having them emailed. On my way back home by 8.10 a.m

i returned at 2.50p.m, results waiting. very easy to understand the report. total cost...... 340 baht!

An excellent service indeed.

Their website is mainly in Thai and but the Fartbook page shows a map of their location. I just clicked on Google maps to get directions (ostensibly from my favourite Pattaya hotel) and it has used my current location in the UK. It blithely informs me that it is 5,998 miles away by hot air balloon !

blimey, if you do decide to go, I recommend getting blood pressure done too
that's a helluva long way to go by balloon

I've been told by my doctor here in Bkk to get several blood tests done - there are 10 and they came to around 4000 baht I think

mostly the usual ones, sugar, cbc, creatine and PSA

he admitted I could get it done far less elsewhere

I've seen Lifecare and the Pattaya lab in Naklua mentioned here

anyone with recent experience of prices and service quality locally? cheers

I go to Lifecare regularly. They offer a 15 test package for 500 baht all the standard ones. Hard to beat at that price. Efficient and quick as well.
