Good reason to go to a Bar or Disco, talk to the girl (negotiating while consuming) and taking the buisness elswhere.. I have used short time rooms above bars rarely (maybe 4 times in the past 7 years).. Now I will avoid gentlemens clubs and ST rooms all together.. I wonder.. Who is tipping of the police all the time?? EVERYONE knows, what is going on in town.. Even police!! It appeares to me, police are tightning up with those show raides.. Not long, and they might start to raid Hotels as well.. Prostitution is illeagal after all.. All it needs is a jelous neighboring hotel guest tipping off the police..

It's got very little to do with people tipping the police off. The police already know exactly what is going on and where with regards to most of the high profile gentleman clubs.

I'm looking forward to breaking the law a few times next week. In fact I have a 3some planned and will have 2 in my mouth. If they come in I will just tell them as the Carl's jr commercial says "don't bother me, I'm eating"

Tell them you have a cum presciption from your doctor-:)

I think anyone running a bar should be very wary of any Thai man that isn't already known, coming into the bar. Maybe treat him like one would if running a bar in your home country.

in my home contry there wouldnt be any problem.

would you not be allowed to have a jacuzzi with two naked girls in your home country ? or where you also naked ?

imagine...

the guy is having a jacuzzi with two girls .... the army stepped inside without knocking at the door asking permission to come in and this right at the very moment he was getting a bj...one of them standing in uniform looking down at his weiner...next thing that happens is the press being invited along taking pictures and putting them on the internet.

PattayaOne is worse than British Tabloids it looks like ! in Europe at least they would hide the guy's face...

actually..... it was a 4-some !

one guy is standing naked with a towel behind the soldier in the left corner...

one girl is hiding under the other available towels ..

The police aren't that stupid to send Thai guys in Tony. They send in farang with marked bank notes. Pay for the deed and then the police come in. They have quite a few farang working in this capacity for them. And with bars where the action takes place in the bar then all they need to do is review CCTV footage Edited by Solice

So interesting.

I would have thought that Gentlemen's Clubs, by their very nature would fit the notion of Thai pragmatism.

Not unlike the nature of Local "Love Hotels". Resplendent with car curtain.

As opposed to the "In your face" gaudy nature of Soi Six.

Or the upfront nature of Walking Street a Go Gos.

I love Soi Six................

But, back on topic, if this is not necessarily about money,

Then why?

Gentlemen's Clubs?

Daytime/ Discretion/ confidentiality?

Surely, someone is paying someone for something that someone else thinks they should be the

recipient someone of?

Please.

Well, that has just been a thought.. Pattaya will surely loose its apeal, when the Barscene is gone.. Why not go the full way, and close Walking Street as well.. The world needs another family resort in Thailand.. I would say, they should implement a curfew like they have in Chaing Mai, so all families can have their goodnight sleep..

Seriously, instead of raiding places, and destroying peoples liflyhood, they should more focus on other things.. But then again, they want to change Pattaya in something that it is not.. They forgot, what made Pattaya famous, and what people like to go to Pattaya for.. They will see.. When all the party leaves the town.. But I have to admit, things realy change, the new freeway, the highspeed rail link and the expanding airport.. Pattaya will surely be in 5 to 10 years completly differen, and I think, the whole scene should concidder to move on.. I am sure, there are other places which would be happy to have, what Pattaya has..

It appears to be as mentioned they are making a 1/2 assed attempt at cleaning pattaya up. Fact is the bars and the girls keep pattaya alive. So shutting the scene down would be a shot in the foot. Let's face it the beach isn't big enough or nice enough to bring tourist even if they get the trash and floating condoms out of the water and off the beach.

Correct it will be different. The new regime doesn't care about the sex trade and what Pattaya used to be and still is to a certain extent. As for walking street expect big changes within the next two years, present talk says that alot of it will disappear and a casino to take its place at the end of walking street. I don't believe the authorities wish to get rid of all the bars but want to clear the beach road and surrounding sois. Let's face it, if they do build a casino then they need to take Pattaya out of the slum that it is and make it more up market.

Sad to say as many do like Pattaya the way it is, but one of the reasons I don't spend many holiday days there is that it is trashy. Even single it's pretty trashy, but taking my ex there from Chiang Mai...it was a never again experience with a woman and daughter. Which I'm guessing the stigma they are trying to get rid of.

Odd because many Thais want to go there for vacation even though the beach sucks.

Yeah, I'd heard they use falangs for that. Probably volunteers no doubt. What do I think of them? No comment

Jomtien would probably be the place to go with families ?

it has its convenience of being a beach resort near to bangkok.

if you were to stay in the intercontinental, you would probably never leave that place for the duration of your stay.

but thats a different market.

i agree there are too many massage and sex shops on Pattaya streets to make it family friendly...

If they want to re-invent Pattaya (WS) as a place for people to gamble in casinos, how can they possibly hope to eradicate the sex trade? Gambling and vice (sex) go back a long ways together . Do they just want to make the P4P less visible? (And probably more expensive?)

Well, I imagine they do, Good Jimmy.

Want to reinvent Pattaya, I mean.

But, back to the original news story, how does a raid on a Gentlemen's club promote that?

I must say, I'm at a loss.

Unless said reinvention is of an entirely different model to that we Good BMs anticipate?

Indeed, assume?
