Just returned from Pattaya after staying 2 weeks. I emailed Jasmine Mansion 3 months ago to book the Penthouse suite at 1750 baht a night and I emailed the week before I left to confirm and he (Kevin said all was confirmed)

The reason I took the Penthouse was because it has a huge private balcony where I could sunbake and it also had an outdoor kitchen.
When I arrive the Penthouse is being occupied by the female owner (Jaid wife of Kevin) they put me in a smaller room for the night then I move the next day, no big deal

Then I pay for room in advance the next day and get a pissy little 500 baht discount from Jaid (female owner) I also ask her where the restuarant is that you adverise on the website and where is the bar you advertise, she said they closed it down. She is however still advertising it on the banner in the street and on the hotel front windows.

I get to room and it is nice and the balcony is nice too so that day I decide to sunbake, no privacy though becuase the cleaning ladies use the balcony to dry the towels and blankets on so they are coming and going every 5 minutes, not impressed.

Then there was water problems, 2 days with no water and the wireless internet didn't work for a few days.

So at this stage I am pretty pissed given I have paid 25000 baht for accom for 2 weeks so I have been asking for days where Kevin the male owner is, it is at this stage that one of the staff tell me that he and Jaid have split and I can't speak to him.

Jaid (female owner) is not sympathetic to any discounts and is just imho a gold digging bitch. Her staff are lovely people and after getting to know them well and having drinks with them they all open up and tell me that they hate working for her, she pay's less than anywhere else and they are treated like shite.

Jaid decide to ask me out with her and her staff one night for drinks and I say yes, the whole night she never offered to buy her staff or me drinks and I pay for the entire expedition, around 7000 baht, bare in mind I am not rich I have 2 trips a year and work and save for 6 mths for each trip.

The next day one her very sexy little staff members decides to leave because of Jaid's attitude and she has already found a new job, I also like this young lady a lot so now that she doesn't work there I ask he out. She says yes and we spend many days together. Everytime after seeing this young lady I return to the hotel the owner (Jaid) asks me 100 questions about who I have been with and where have I been. Is she serious, my god this have never happened to me before in Thailand.

In the afternoons or at night when I am sitting down stairs having a drink at the so called bar the owner is harrassing me to buy everyone drinks, people walk in off the st and she hits me up to buy them drinks, crazy.

So it all comes to a boiling point when the young lady (ex staff member)that I have been spending time with decide that because she doesn't work at the motel anymore that she can come back to room for the night. We return to the motel were we are advised by the receptionist that my lady friend is not allowed in my room, I ask to speak to lady owner who comes downs and abuses my lady friend in thai, she then pushes her and her dayghter jumps in and pushes her too, the fight is stopped and I ask the owner why she is not allowed in my room and her reply is 'she is my staff' my reply 'she doesn't work for you anymore so there should be no problem' she replies 'I don't care its my motel and I can do what I want'

So I tell her to get stuffed packed my bags and left the hotel and found one around the corner. I received no refunds no discounts for no water or wireless or no 24/7 restuarant as advertised. The women is a gold digging evil piece of work and in 10 years of going to Thailand I have never seen or heard of anything like it, it nearly ruin my trip but I meet a very sweet young lady who I spent some great time with. Jasmine Mansion is located on Soi Baukaow near Soi Honey and next to Club Blu, be warned it is not what it appears and from local reports it has gone to shite since Kevin and her have split, apprently he use to look after the motel, now I can see why.

What for a nightmare mate !
U should post this report in all Pattaya board, so she we loose customers , and that's just fine with such a bad attitude.
Infact i saw already in Addict 2-3-bad reviews about Jasmine.
Since she split with her husband the hotel is just a joke.
And my advice is NEVER pay in advance for ur whole stay.(except if u know the owner and the place already)

I think she won't stay open longer...

Truly awful.

I can see this being run into the ground and bled dry for every satang its worth by Jaid, then sell it for a pittance. Some Thai people live / budget for whats in their purse and spend every coin and have not concern where the next batch of money is coming from. She is clearly of this ilk and has no business sense.

I agree, it's worthy of mentioning to other forums. If anything it will help others make there mind up to book or not.

For that money, there is much better available.

DR, have you stayed in that hotel before ? or it was your first time ?
I TRY to make a point to stay at places I know.

I know there are thousands of bad reports for Penthouse Hotel,
But I went back there time and again because of just one person.
She is one of the receptionist there and a very good friend.
I knew always that whatever happens, she would rescue me from the shite.

Sorry for such mishap and yes, those are fun killers.

I stayed there because of a good review from this site, but bare in mind that review was done when the guy was running the place. This place is one to steer to clear of and the teeruk I meet at reception put me into a great place for a few nights with no problems. I actually took her to the vault for a night and the American guy that runs the place was spot on man, gave me a huge discount, look after me and her, waived the 7% credit card fee and let us check out late. He was a good guy and we had a great time there.

The lady at Jasmine is serious evil and I have never seen anything like it in 10 years. I thought I learnt it all but it seems as if Thailand continues to teach me lesson's every year.

Thanks to all that listen and I really tried to be diplomatic about the report, there was worse but words cant express, by the way I meet Karl at Ezy and rang the bell a few time's, what a good guy he is and he has a great club with some of los best ladyboys.

By the way I took a lb back the first 2 nights, Moo from JSB, huge cock and great girl, Jaid the owner took the shit out of me about it for days and I felt so embarressed, again this was not a nice feeling because I had a great time with Moo and felt that I couldn't see her again because of the jokes that the Jaid made about me being with a katoey.

Agreed, at first I thought I would let it slide but decided I can not, I will post on Pattaya Addicts and hope it steers a few clear. There are many great hotels in Pattaya, I just got unlucky on this occasion but the saving grace a a beautiful yough lady that help no end and for her I thank buddha, out of everything bad comes something good and the experience will never change my feeling of thailand or it's truely amazing people, unfortunately I just got unluckly this time, but there is also the next time. Lesson learnt and time to move forward.

Just remember guys, if any hotel in Thailand tries to charge even 1 baht for credit card fees, they are breaking Thai Law. They are not permitted to charge. Restaurants and shops are, its just hotels that are not.

The matter of fact is that in Pattaya almost all the hotels are shitty. The only good ones are Sheraton, Marriott and Royal Cliff. All the others may be used only for ST.

Well, well, I remember a hotel receptionist/manageress(with some slight attitude) telling me the fees for credit card payments, so I had to pay in cash. That was at a hotel in BR Soi 13. The owner or real manager was very nice.

And the Queen Victoria Inn insists on advance payment in cash.

As for Jasmine Mansion, now you know why they insist on payment in advance.
