Philippines Airlines

I have travelled a lot during the last few months on the short hauls on PAL and yes the crew are very friendly as is normal with the pinoys but the service is not 4 star by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't about the long haul sectors though. This is EC I am talking about.

I am thinking of flying Philippines Airlines long haul.

I have flown short haul and it doesn't matter much but would like an opinion on their business class on the long haul if anyone has any experience.

Thank you.

PAL is notoriously late . Best to stay the night in makati then fly out the next day . What to do in makati? Stay at the IM HOTEL. Sign up for pinalove. Fresh young ladyboys to choose come running to your room typically 1,500 peso for some good fucking

I flew return from Melbourne with Philippine Airlines in Business Class in July
in the refitted A330 in the new three class configuration, Business, Premium Economy and
Economy. The new seat - PAL’s Vantage XL seats from Thompson Aerospace are a
quantum improvement on the old seat. The service by the Cabin Crew was also
good , complimented by the improved menu and beverages, designed by famous
Philippine Chefs.

The price of the ticket was A$1000.00 cheaper than Qantas.

I find PAL business class great, better than Thai, better than Qantas and a lot cheaper too.

I just monitor Skyscanner - set up an alert for price changes.
Last year I got a business class ticket for the price of an cattle class ticket, the best prices usually come from a site called “Aunt Betty”

I can also usually get a Business class ticket from Manila to Thailand for $150 AUD.

Hi  TorqueS

I'd certainly be prepared to pay $150 AUD for a business class seat from Manila to Bangkok. Where do you find such a great deal or deals??

You mentioned monitoring Skyscanner - how do you find the best business class fare?. My version of Skyscanner seems to search only for Economy seats!!

In the search flights page
After you have searched flights on a particular day
Left hand side on the same line of sort - filter
It will state in light blue 1 adult economy
Click on it
The click on cabin class
Select business class

Hi Torque

That search method certainly helps find  a business class fare on a particular day, but I don't see how that helps in digging out the cheapest Business class fare over several days or several months !! Do you have any ideas ?

Pick out a date several months ahead
Setup an alert
When you get an alert on the price then search around that date

About 50% of aircraft seats are made in northern Ireland - Thompson and BE aerospace seem to have the market sewn up!
