Am thinking of a Thai trip late Jan 2019.

IF I am still working in Germany then am thinking my only choice for direct flights is down to only 2 airlines, Thai & Lufthansa if I am correct? Are there any others?

If I want a 1 stop flight whos the best and what airports do they fly out of?

All and any tips from fellow BM's welcome.

Yes for direct flights it's Lufthansa or Thai Airways.

With 1 stop, it's Qatar, Singapore, Emirates, Cathay, Etihad, Turkish Airline.

Best price/quality relation should be with qatar, but you should see which airline has the best special offer on your date.

Also all the other European majors (KLM, AF, BA) fly direct with shuttle connections from /to Frankfurt and possibly Berlin.

Ahh ok thanks.

Seems expensive to fly from Germany compared to Heathrow to me. I got quoted 558 yo yo's today from Thai (thats what I call euro's )

Qatar you say? will look it up.

Will also check the flight times from these airlines and sky scanner

558€ is a good price for Thai.

If you want cheap flights, you should look out for Oman Air, they have sometimes offers of under 400€ for economy.

But i would always pay 100€ more for a reliable and very good airline like Qatar.

Am in Mannheim and Frankfurt is about 40 mins by road or 1.30 hours by rail.

Might consider another airport if parking is cheap etc etc

Emirates is servicing Frankfurt too, if I'm not mistaken.

They offer a free train ride too.

Lufthansa are my favourite Euro airline, my first few trips to LOS were with them.

Not a patch on the Arabs though, Qatar and Emirates are a different league and usually cheaper... although with a stop over.

Good to hear your back soon though, enjoying the current videos!

For you Frankfurt is the best airport.

The train ride is only 30min from Mannheim to Frankfurt Airport.( with a ICE)

The train station is directly at the airport..

You can get a ticket for 25€, or if you have time for 20€ (ride takes then 1h)

But you should book a ticket not to late, the cheaper tickets are limited.

ok Boss, don't get your knickers in a twist

What's your problem with him? If you have nothing productive to say, say best nothing

wait....what ??

free ride?

Like the sound of that !!

I think that works only with direct booking with the airline, price for the flight is normally cheaper with sites like kayak.

Knobby I thought you flew with Thai anyway, Que problem?

Frankfurt has more destinations/connections than any airport in Europe.

If you want to fly direct you can.

If you to fly with a stopover you can.

Its just logistics from where you are based to the airport, a taxi or a train or a combination of the two.

I like Thai yea but the prices flying from Germany seem high to me  :Thumbs Down:

If I am still in Germany closer to December then will have to book from here.

I will be looking at sky scanner and the airlines direct but what I see so far I dont like.

Gonna have to save more money by the looks of it

I was planing to fly out on a Saturday on the early thai flight but now am looking at the Friday before and a 1 stop flight.

I got quoted 558

Its £1 to 1.13 Euro's which works out roughly as £520.  Not really out of the ball park Knobby.  I have paid that in the past for a for a flight.

I think where you flew from in the past from LHR, prices are cheaper, but its a bigger airport by passenger numbers so they can do the deals on flights.

I would be screaming like a banshee if the price was £700+ but again it depends on the time of year. Jan in Germany is significantly colder than the UK and probably more demand for flights, hence the price.

What did Turkish Airlines come in at?, with the new airport at Istanbul you might find a keener price?

Have seen 317 euros with a 1 stop flight, now thats better.

Still need to check the flight times and how long the stop overs are yet.

Depends also on your home airport.

The Gulf airlines offer you flights from many cities that LH and TG won’t be able to.

So if you need to reach Frankfurt or Munich by air to connect to LH or TG, then check the gulf airlines too.

Other two airlines offering great business class fares from Frankfurt are Oman and royal Jordanian.

Well if it was me I'd go with that m8, make an inquiry about purchasing a pass for the business lounge if its long stop over. The Business lounge isn't too much, about £30 or so but First class is around the £100 mark easily.
