Just wondering if anyone had stayed at the penthouse hotel recently?

I have stayed there on my last three trips, on the last one there was alot of construction going on which made it a little annoying.

Anyone been there recently?

The last time I stayed there was in November of last year.

I am thinking of Galaxy Suites this time, any info about there would also help in making my decision.

I have never stayed a either so can't really comment... I will say though that I have heard some very good reviews about Galaxy suites but the same cannot be said about Penthouse...

Given the option between the two I would rather stay at Galaxy IMHO

does anyone have pictures of the penthouse rooms and views from the front from outside. Where is it anyway? My isp filter will not allow me to go to the penthouse hotel site. Anything your able to post would be helpful.

The following pictures are very similar to the room I stayed in last time.................... actually I thimk they gave me the same room this next trip too. In reallity the room are not lit nearly as well as pictured. I also included the price list for the other rooms. The pictured room is the "Pattaya" room.






And this is what I am giving up in order to go on my vacation.



I'll just have to get that one later I guess. The vacation is definetly worth it.

$32 a night for that isn't bad at all. I think that's a stripper pole in there too haha. That bike looks fairly expensive... There must be a 'hidden' vacation fee setting you back; I mean, the girls, of course.

Jacuzzi's................ Hot Tub's................... To expensive for me.

More $ for hotel = Less $ for Girls/LB's (or whatever else you may fancy)
=> I'll take the less expensive room every time.

Been there very recently for few nights.

The WIFI in the room was not working. Everything else was good.

Their breakfast has improved. The ac and the TV were working better than previous times.

But hey, it is still more expensive than many other hotels around. Think and choose.

i have stayed there on many visits, and on every visit I was not amused by the massive ammount of cockroaches they have in their rooms. The rooms are nice for your porn fantasies, but it gets old quick, and the pest plaque they have does not help

I've not stayed there for five years and back then it was cockroache and rat infested (you could hear them in the cavity of the walls) judging by the attitude of the owners when I put my concerns in writing to them.....I doubt much has changed.
No Way, would I stay there when much much better new accomodation is available within a few hundred meters of this shit hole.

I stopped staying there about 2 trips ago. I had back to back rooms with more than the usual roaches. Internet connection wasn't the greatest either, etc. I've been staying at Pattaya Bay Resort since last year and so far no complaints.

Stayed at the Penthouse for 6 nights over Christmas period 2008. I paid online to them, then called to upgrade to a room with the "health swing"...

They swiped my card for the upgrade when I arrived...On checkout, there were 3 added taxes..not the 2 that are normal to Thailand ( extra 11%) I think and also a couple of grand for the xmas dinner I never had ( Compulsory I was told )

The room was not as brightly lit as the photos, and the relevant light switches were a pain in the ass to find. Cats everywhere ( hate cats) and a few roaches. It was fine for fantasy but wore off after a couple of days. The room had magazines, toothbrushes, condoms , chocolate and gifts everywhere...way too much for a minibar...overheard some peope complain for charging things they never consumed or used, but I was ok.

The chambermaids were nice, but overall the place is a Dump....would never stay again. The pool they have is advertised as a fantasy spa...was filthy

From day 1, I was annoyed that I almost bumped my head on the sink everytime I sat on the toilet, but that turned out to be the real BONUS..!!!!
The breakfast sucked, and the butter tasted a bit funny...oh-oh serious food poisoning came my way....I had to crap and vomit at the same time for hours,...lucky the basin was directly in front of the toilet, otherwise you can imagine the potential for mess. hahahaa

on checkout, the bill was really high due to the "taxes" and xmas dinner....and I had paid for "Limo" to take me to bangkok...Lo and Behold, a beat up old volvo appeared, not the nice car I was picked up in...that was taking the piss...I complained, and they sent him away...walked across the road, and handed some cash to the driver of a Camry parked outside...keeping the profits....He asked me why I stayed there...he said it stinks, people check out all the time

I guess thats why they want to get your cash before you come in order to secure the room.

AVOID THIS PLACE.

Although the club downstairs was OK...mixed GG and LBs....and it is in close proximity to WS

Thanks for the review. I've always wanted to stay there because of the porno atmosphere but have avoided it due to all the bad reviews.

It's a real shame. It seems like a cleaner, better lit, better run version of this place could probably make a ton of money.

Anyone want to lend me a boatload of cash to make it happen?

On a slightly off topic note, I've never understood some of the thai hotel practices. They charge more for a huge room that have like 4 pieces of cruddy furniture in them. Personally I'd rather have a quality smaller room with a nice mattress and comfortable chairs/couch than some monstrosity with a crappy wicker couch a whole bunch of useless floor space, and a mattress thinner than a ritz cracker.

Rooms at the Penthouse are not exactly huge, more cluttered with too much stuff than big.

It always seems to have a fair few customers, and attracts a lot from its promises on the net. Not sure if it gets tons of repeat business though.

Some friends of mine stay their often, but only if they are 2 nghts in Patts. Any longer and they stay elsewhere

I have taken the odd Obsessions girl there for a S/T but as Jaydee says too cluttered with stuff. That fucking fluffy bear on the bed was a pain in the ass too.(lol).
The room with the swing was fun although I was a bit scared that the ceiling might come down if I would sit in it so I went down on her instead...
