Where can I find really good German food in Pattaya? I've tried the German restaurant on Beach Road near Soi 3 and another one that's been around for many years on Beach Road near the entrance to Walking Street...both were pretty good. Do any members know of some other places to get good German food?

One of them is "Anton", 370/7-8 Pattaya Second Road. Buffet all night for 240 Baht.

Thanks to all for the great tips--I've tried "Domicil" before and liked it. The place on Soi Honey, Brauhaus, and that buffet at Anton all sound very good too.

Dont get me wrong now guys, becourse there is NO offence intended here.

I my self have been to Thailand 10 times now,and never ever have i been to a Swedish restaurante....nor will i ever be.

Ok,i admit to the fact that i have been to Mc D, a couple of times(maybe 3-4 all togheter while stumble home drunk as a skunk.

As the saying goes: When in Rom,do it like the roman`s....or in this case, when in Thailand,Eat Thaifood......And GOD knows i love it.

And the Thai cousine(spelling? ) is one of the most tasteful in the world IMO

There is a Dutch restaurant opposite Mike Shopping Mall (backside) in the arcades to Soi Diana Inn. Almost opposite the Big Horn Steakhouse.

I enjoy Thai food very much and usually eat it when in Thailand; there are times when I need a break from it, though.

Thailand was an elective R&R point for me some years ago when I was stationed in various places in East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East. The European and American food one could find on the local economy was non-existent, or badly done and/or costly. When on R&R I discovered that in Bangkok or Pattaya I could find relatively cheap, tasty and authentic food--not only Thai food, but food from other places as well. So when in Thailand I sometimes crave food other than Thai.

As for Dutch food, thanks for the lead about the restaurant. I especially like Stamppot (that potato-endive-ham dish).

Strange that I never saw the place, as I always stay at the Areca Lodge.

Yes, but not when it's 30+ degrees.

Well... I am german and I think the food 'we' serve is disgusting. :Surrender:

But really authentic german food can be found at the Berliner Bistro on Soi 13. It's a bit a hidden spot, but there are quite many germans, because you can get all kinds of german food here the way it is served in Germany.

I've only been there once because it is tradition in Germany to eat Sauerkraut on the first of January (for luck and full a wallet in the new year...) and I was satisfied with the food and the prices. ^_^

Where I live we eat practically same same sh..t as southern Germany and I would never even thought of going into German restaurant… let alone any other farang restaurant excluding Italian (near Soi Diana is one small Italian restaurant with great oven baked pizzas). As Matrix said, when in Rome…

Yeah sure... Once or twice maybe but I prefer to use services of local Thai cuisine masters (for 40 BHT/dish). :Angel With Star:
