1. I just told them I come back after one hour or so to exchange my cash to bath, no pompam as Alex says.
2. The staff IS 10 out of ten!!
3. Alex, please tell me about Secrets Hotel, I like to visit this hotel now in january or february, I like pbr a lot but also like to stay at another hotels as well. Balcony? Shower or bath tube? Etc..

Everything is on their website Mikkel... www.secretspattaya.com

things to note...the photos of the looms are correct on the website...nice, clean, good staff, decently appointed (for the basics) and very reliable wifi is free in the loom...but, no elevator (i always stay in the rooms just 1 flight up cuz i am old n lazy) and no pool (again, first couple days I dont care about this as I then move to the PBR with a pool...good size walk-in shower w/curtain, no tub...and they do charge like 3% or something like that extra if you pay with your credit card...they will take Visa/MC, but they prefer Baht.

Hope this helps...cheers, alex

A friend and i stayed at Pattaya Bay Resort for 3 weeks in sept 2010 because it was recommended on this site or another site ....can't recall . We were astounded that we scored the perfect accommodation via the net ....usually i like to see the place 1st before i book .
My mate said don't go telling people how good this place is ........we will never be able to get a booking :)

It has everything you want :

- In room safe
- An awesome pool on the roof
- Fantastic efficient friendly staff
- The best security i've seen from a thai hotel
- Cheap rates especially for the quality of the hotel
- A balcony
- Location location location
- The standard & variety of the food is fantastic .
- no charge to bring company back to the room

Will be back in May :)

If so, then it comes back to the game.
P.S. I'm not worried about "guest fees" (for me 3-somes are good for ST), but about a 500.00 baht per night refundable security deposit which is required upon check-in. But if They do not require it, then for sure I have to check if they are avalible during my stay in LOS

Dont worry, be happy!!
Just give the staff some tips now and then, smiling and have fun. Sometimes(NOT every time) when I exchange big bath to small baht in front desk I give 100-200 bath total to the girls and tell them not to get drunk tonight or some other bulshit... Pay for ure whole staying the first day when u arrive and then bring two or three girls for overnight. Then u have a GOOD HOLIDAY!!

Trust me. I`ve allready done so at pbr two times :)

..and when Im chatting with one of the front desk girls in PBR from my yahoo messenger, I ask her to tell me some funny stories from the customers who arrive late night, and its very fun indeed.
Yesterday she like to rename the hotel to Pattaya Gay Hotel, because the guests only bring ladyboys in room..Posted Image

Some update as well, the owner has sold the hotel because he gonna retired, the new owner like to run it as before, but maybe the girls have work 8 hour shift instead of 12 hour as now. Less money for the staff but nothing is settle yet. She told me the new boss is a good man,and handsome too..

I've been interested in checking out PBR but some reviewers on tripadvisor said the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the rooms next door. I'm a light sleeper so I've avoided the hotel. But it does look nice. Not sure I want to walk thru the mall everytime I return home either

Very sorry to hear this...he is a great guy...even shared a drink or two with him on WS when in town.

I hope things do stay the same as it is my home away from home now.

Cheers, Alex
