Samsung Galaxy S is one generation behind Galaxy SII or Optimus 2x ... dual core processor and dedicated graphic chip do wonders in new generation of Androids. For plain old Angry Birds type of software Galaxy S and other single core mobiles are ok but when you need sheer power of processor combining with 3D graphics display (car navigation software like Sygic etc…) you just can’t beat new Androids.
Only thing new generation of Android lacks comparing to iPhone is… they consume far too much power. If you want to cut down power consumption you have to change ROM but this is another story, not for iPhone topic.

Dual core makes a real difference ... I love the Atrix. The Samsung Galaxy is competing on screen ... the giant AMOLED scree is no doubt beautiful, and multimedia support superb (including the DAC), but I still think their software interface is poor compared to Motorola, and especially to the iPhone4. Even HTC seems to be doing a better job on the interface (i.e., the wrapper they place on top of Android). I think I'd prefer the Atrix and an iPod Touch
