Personally I prefer local Thai food but it is always a welcome change to have another type of cuisine.
Back to Mexican - I forgot - Shennanigans (in the Avenue mall on 2nd Road) do pretty good Fajitas - Chicken or Beef and you can request extra hot sauce
That probably covers the Mexican eateries.

But, I am a Texas Boy who has lived the past 10 years in Japan (and worked in Europe and Africa for 5 years before that), which may the Land of the Rising Sun, but is also the Land of Shitty Fucking Mexican Food, so I have to get what I can, when I can.
I have only been home twice in over a decade, and each time my Mom was pissed I stopped for Fried Catfish or Mexican on the way to her house, lol
Thanks for the great suggestions, I know where all of them are located and will be sure to check them out.

Whrw, I live in Korea, so I can understand why you want Mexican when you go to LOS. So far the Mexican food hasn't been disappointing over here. I've only found two restaurants. One is owned my a Korean-American who comes from Texas. The other is owned by a white guy. Your description of Japanese Mexican food made me want to puke. I feel for you.

Ok, as I love Mexican food I have to chime in here. These are three I have found & I look for more.
Bob's BBQ & Mexican Grill on Soi LK is the best I have had so far. (Bob is a BBQ guy from Houston) If you seek true Mexican Food, I still think you might be a bit disappointed, but it's as close as you will find here. And yes, Bob is a good guy, but he's looking to sell the restaurant & if he can't sell that, just sell the shop house. So, better check it out ASAP. If you have a dream to own your own Mex place call him @ 038 424 302.
Shenanigans has fajitas, quesadillas, nacho's, etc. which, while good are typical Friday's or Applebee's style American Mexican food.
Sam's Mexican & American Grill is in Jomtien on the back side of Jomtien Plaza & is hard to find. Sam is a retired sheriff from San Diego & also a good guy. I have only eaten there once & as I always do the first time I go to a Mex place, I ordered a chicken burrito, cheese enchiladas & beans. The burrito was large but dry. The enchiladas were good but the beans were a bit disappointing. On the plus side, they are ladyboy friendly, but the ladies in the back couldn't take their eyes off my date. My date said Sam was gay & the waiter was his BF (she was just listening into the conversations & using her Scooby LB senses)so I don't know why the gals in the kitchen would have been staring so much. My LBGF is beautiful so maybe they were just amazed that a LB could look so good. That's my take on it, for what it's worth.
If anyone knows of other Mexican places in Pattaya, list them here & I'll check them out & report. I live here now so it's not a problem.
I've never heard of the Blue Parrot, but I'll ask around & report if I can find it.

It's the closest to a Mexican Restaurant I've encountered in Pattaya (and I
live in California where there are authentic Mexican restaurants all over
the place).

I went to Tequilla Reef for lunch & a beer today. Ordered, as usual, a chicken burrito & cheese enchilada that came with beans & rice. Both tortillas, both corn & flour were terrible as were the chips served prior to the food. The cheese in the enchilada was not melted & I couldn't tell exactly what kind it was. The rice had a funky taste but the beans (not refried but just beans in a sauce) were very good. The service was excellent & the waitress very friendly. No LB's in site.
In my opinion, if a shop can't make a good enchilda, nothing else will be good either. On a scale of 1 to 10, the enchilada was a 1 (very poor).Unfortunately, what I had today places this restaurant at the bottom of the list.
I inquired who owned the restaurant, as in nationality, & was told an American named Darryl. He is not in country at the moment but will return November 5, I was told. So, maybe since he is not there to supervise, the food quality has gone down. I hope that to be the case. I liked the atmosphere & especially the AirCon & the TV set on real American football. A nice change in Brit/European dominated Pattaya.
I do plan to go back after November 5, just to give it another chance with the owner in town & able to supervise.

Went to the Blue Parrot a few days ago, so naturally my memory is a bit hazy. Had the usual chicken burrito, cheese enchilada, rice, beans & this time got a tostada as well. The only thing that I can say is that if you are staying in that part of town, eat there. But as I don't, I'll be giving it a miss. Food was just unremarkable. Not terrible, not good, just unremarkable in every sense.
Yesterday I went back to Tequila Reef for dinner with a new LBGF. After seeing a photo menu and getting an explanation of the foods from the waitress, she got the chicken quessadilla. I had a few bites & it was very good. I got the three item combo plate with chicken buritto (naturally) and one cheese & one beef enchilada plus rice & beans. I must say the food this time around was entirely different from my first experience. The chips were fresh (last time they had gone stale 2 weeks prior) the buritto & enchiladas were excellent, beans good same as before. No big deal for me, but the rice had a strange funky flavor as before. I still don't like the rice, but I get enough rice anyway, so no big deal to me. But all in all, 150% improvement. I will eat there again. Next time I will try a margarita. The bin for the 2 dinners, 2 San Miguels & her Pepsi was about 600 Bt, so no complaints there either.
Here's my take now that I think I have been to all the Mexican food restaurants. Bob's BBQ & Tequila Reef will be my 2 "go to" joints. I will try others, if there are additions. Sam's Mexican in Jomtien is acceptable if you are south of town. Both Bob's & T.R. are relatively close to each other, so no convenience factor is applicable.
Recommend Bob's & Tequila Reef. I will try to meet & have a chat with the owner of T.R. and let him know about quality issues in his absence. Hopefully, he will be able to solve the quality issue when he is away.
