Hi all,

When I am in the LOS I like to treat myself to a nice steak every now and then, would love to have some feedback from members about where they have had a good steak in Pattaya. i have been to the Big Horn in Pattaya and although the steak was nice I am sure there is better in Pattaya.

I was thinking the top 5 star places will probably have a decent set up.
Looking forward to your comments guys.

I stayed at the Amari Ocean Tower back in May and visited its Mantra Restaurant several times. Not cheap, but some of the best steaks I've had in Pattaya.

Manhattan's on the road to Jomtien ahs a good rep, but I think they recently changed chefs. I'm no expert as I rarely spend more than 30 baht for a meal.

Where do you find a meal for 30 baht, other than food stalls on streets?

Most of the time you pay for the environment not for the good food...Its up to you if you like to go to posh restaurant but you are not going to impress any LB or GG buy taking them to such a place only thing they'll be thinking is mmmm this guy is got MONEY..
To me best place for a good steak (fillet steak)is Tops Supermarket..I do like my meat..OK I do not want any of your wise ass comments here..lol...All most ever other day I go there for a steak.. only 165bt.
And I can say one of the other reasons i stay at Soi7-8 is so I can be near to TOPs.... :Eating:

Theres a little alley way down one of the soi 13's , cant place which one now but does great stir fry for 30-35 baht. Packed at lunch time. Downside is the large aircon outlet at the volume of a helicopter, but the foods good.

I've visited Mantra a couple of times and the food was good but not that much better than Big Horn. I agree with 69billy about paying extra on posh restaurants, IMO most of the time it is just extra for the environment, but then again I'm not the biggest gourmet in the world.

Bobs BBQ is highly recommended if you like BBQ ribs.

Usually i go to El Toro steakhouse, second road.
The fillet mignon and the crepes souzette are excellent.

Good call Luca, I was there about 3 years ago and it was a pretty decent steak and good value as well, I will give that place a visit on my next trip.

El Toro gets my vote as well but I would add most of these type of restaurants seem to be wasted on Thais, as from my experiance they just end up asking for Thai food

I went there. Very nice.

Not spectacular, but a very good steak.

I guess I have been spoiled with great steaks here in Dallas Texas.

VVV Down here, I have a sad story to tell.
Attached Image: steak pic.jpg

I was with a ladyboy friend. I asked her where the best steak in town was. She recommended this place. So we went. When we got there, we were stopped at the door. My LB friend and a restaurant host were speaking to each other in Thai, so I had no idea what they were saying. After a few moments, my friend grabbed my arm and she pulled me away. She told me that she was not allowed in there because she was a ladyboy. I have a hard time understanding that, but thats what happened.

Just an FYI. If you go there, don't bring a ladyboy with you.

I had my first good steak in Thailand at a place Solice took me to but I don't remember the name. He was even kind enough to pick up the tab.

It was somewhere on Soi Bukaow near Soi Diane... maybe he will drop by this thread and update us all on its name as I intend to go back there when I need something substantial in my belly.

That's messed up and says a lot about the Thai's being accepting of Ladyboys. I wonder if you can find out WHY LBs aren't allowed there.

But do not forget AB..LBs in Pattaya don't represents the LBs in Thailand..Most in pattaya are on the game and few of them are on yabba..So they do not behave or dress like the rest..so that's one of the reasons they are not welcome to some placess..
