Just thought I would start this thread. Where in Pattaya have you found the most amazing Thai food. For me, it's all about street vendors or small shops. Any places stand out, please add to thread. Here are a few of my favs.

1. Kiss Restaurant -- 2nd road across from Big Mike Shopping mall. Great food, great prices, great place to bring your girl for breakfast in the morning (that is a substantial amount of their morning business, based on what I have seen).

2. Forbidden Alley -- Not really the name of the place, just calling it that because its located in one of those alleys along Walking Street. It is located right next to the entrance of the Beach Club GoGo Bar. Fish, chicken, its always amazing (and cheap). Get a seat in front around 8ish, and watch the talent for the evening go into the gogo. In fact, any of the street venders on that street are pretty damn good as well.

Forgot one.
Baywatch Cafe on Beach Road; about two or three blocks north of Royal Garden Mall. Great Thai food and the best coffee in Pattaya.

I like the row of open air places next to the Alcazar car park on Second road. I have tried a few of them and although not the best Thai food available they are cheap and you get a decent sized portion. The first one as you enter the complex is run by a very friendly Thai guy who is very attentive and if he doesn't have what you want he will get it from one of the other places for you.
I often used to eat here late before hitting the final few bars of the evening along Second road and in Soi 2.

Baywatch is on Beech rd after Royal Garden Plaza on the same side going toward Walking St,went there once half the stuff on the menu they didnt have and the staff were pretty dozy.
For Thai food we use the food market on Pattaya Klang a lot cant miss it ,its about 200yrds from 2nd Rd traffic lights going toward 3rd rd,dead cheap and is always full of Thai office workers, I tend to avoid eating in bars,I use them for boozing and shagging

That looks like my kinda place furryman.
Looks very authentic and well worth a try, I am going to try a lot more local food this time in Patts. I always did the street food at the end of the night but I am looking for more places where the locals eat.

Cheers.

I've been there a couple times myself. Not bad.
However, me being from the US makes me too retarded to use chopsticks. It seems like many times I had to ask the waiter for a fork.

By the way, I noticed Kiss has a good crowd at all times of the day. I never seen a slow time for them.

I was unimpressed with the Food at Kiss, granted I only ate there once so maybe I was unlucky, but the girl I was with didn't seem impressed either. Personally I liked The Boat on Second Road, but it has been over a year since I last ate there. Also there was a place out on Soi Bukaow, I don't think it was as far north as the market Furryman was talking about, but I think it is the Cook it yourself BBQ place he was talking about. Anyway the girls loved that place.

I loved eating at this place. I don't know the name but it was just around the corner from Canterbury Tales.

The food and the service was excellent and it was cheap.

Give it a try.

Why this place is so popular is beyond me. You overpay for a small, tasteless meal in a very annoying location. Man, just across the street there's a place with nice and tasty food at just a fraction of the price. Guess it looks too scary for old farangs, as I have not seen many of them eating there.

Yes it was quite popular but there are many Thai food places that are as good in the area, the new bar I think will struggle as apparently the French guy who owns it wants to make it a French soi, not sure what he means by that and one or 2 of the staff are on the fiddle adding bins etc.

I usually love all the food stalls scattered around Pattaya for good Thai food.
If you fancy a change and want a quieter place with air-con a nice choice can be the food court in Central Festival mall (next to Soi 9).
IIRC, the prices for Thai food are more or less comparable to the food stalls in street, and everything is very clean and of course - air con.

There is a small restaurant on Soi Yensabai, South Pattaya across from the Two Guys Guesthouse.

Very good food mostly caters to the locals - cheap, authentic and very very good. They speak only Thai, but have an english menu - just point and you're fine.
