Madras Darbar, Sai 2 opposite Pattaya Festival, for genuine South India Cuisine and excellent service in a clean restaurant.
After the third night eating there the staff adopted us and started bringing small "Sampler plates". Many Indians eat there and one assumes they would be a great indicator of the quality and authenticity of native cuisine.
We all have different palates and I'm sure many would not appreciate my choice in quality wines.
Madras Darbar makes a Biriyani to die for. Certainly a lot better in my mouth than many things I've had there.

Ali Baba used to be a great restaurant but over the last 2/3 years has declined.
Certainly price wise it is not good
Madras Durbar value.may not have the same fancy furnishings but the food is far better as are the prices.
There is another Indian restaurant on 3rd Road nearly opposite the old X-Zyte Disco - not tried it yet.
For an economic Indian meal there is a restaurant called Spices just beyond Big C Extra (the old Carrefour) on 3rd road. There is a bufet from 7.00pm - all you can eat for 199 baht. It caters to Indian tour groups so the standard is quite high.
