I am retiring to los soon, could any kind members advise me of the required amount of baht, required.
I understand you must have 800,000 baht in your account 2 and 3 months prior, however is it a must to have a specific amount entering via a pension?
Can i have say $1,000 aust dollars entering ,per month via pension, then have the remainder in a bank account in los.
Many thanks.

You can mix and match.

I think its is 65K baht/mo or 800K baht in a bank account.

Assuming the above is coorect, you could have both amounts and combine them together.

You're exactly right............."A copy of bank statement or evidence of adequate finance showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 Baht or an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht, or a deposit account plus a monthly income totaling not less than 800,000 Baht"
This link is for Australian Embassy...http://thaisydney.idx.com.au/Consular_services/Visa/Longstay.html................................................................ I visited my pension administrator today and they knew what I needed. They call it an "award letter" and notarized it for me.

No Thai visa experience at all!

Does that amount deposited in a Thai bank entitle you to say you are retiring there and give you access ton come and go as you please without needing a normal visa?

Hey Jack,

Official procedure is to enter Thailand with a 90 day visa.

Then soon after you arrive open a Thai Bank account with 800K+ baht (if going the lump sum route). Guys seem to think Kasikorn is the easiest bank to open an account with.

Then after two months after you open the account, apply for the retirement visa. Before you go to Jomtien immigration immigration on Soi 5 you'll need a "bank letter", the bank will know what this is and charge u 100-200 baht.

Then apply at immigration, leave them your passport, and go back the next day to pick it up. Then as you leave Immigration head towards the beach and have hot ladyboy sex with ome of the girls at Sally Bar.

In order to exit Thailand and still keep your retirement visa valid, you'll need a re-entry permit. This costs a 1000 baht for a single reentry or 3900 for a multiple reentry.

Any questions, just ask bro.

Thanks for the info swine

Does the retirement visa have an expiry date?

Understand the re entry points thanks

Do you need to be a Certain age as I'm 48

If you deposit more money can you get more options on visas?

I'm going to practice this requirement next week there. Practice, practice, practice

I'm kinda surprised it's only 800K Baht. That's only about 26.7K US. This definitely has my mind working because I'm definitely sick of working.
