Can any kind lads advise of the best way to safely transfer cash from Australia to los?
I plan on having my superannuation pension, transferreed each month into my Aust acct,as they will not transfer o/seas.
Then possibly using a transfer company at around $15 a month for a transfer into a thai account.
Is this the best option?
Or can i have my daughter in Aus,transfer for me each month?
Many thanks.

You can set up your own Overseas transfers from an Australian bank Account. I pay $20.00AUS to transfer money to my Thai account.I believe that you can alternatively have your supperannuation account pay to your Australian bank Account and then have a transfer set up with your Australian Bank to transfer money to your Thai account.

Consider using Ozforex.com.au? I use them fortnightly to move funds, my pension, from Europe to Oz. Under a certain amount it is 10 Euro to transfer and they charge 1% either way off the central rate of exchange. May be the same for Baht to AUD? Very competitive rate! Very happy too. Using them 9 years now.

I just write an American check to my Indian bank account. No fees to bring in all that nice foreign currency. takes about 5 days.

You also get the international bank to bank exchange rate. They keep the spread pretty tight so they don't get screwed on the same transactions going the other way.

I bank with westpac... when I transfered currency overseas ones the eachange rate was shocking. So its best to look at the exchange rate as well as the fees.

I imagine all australian bank would be just as bad.

I would have been better off sending money to myself through western union!

I have heard that forex is good too

Thanx for the reply Mingo, yes with Ausforex you join up with them free of course, you pick a username and password, log on,check the current thai baht, transfer from your Aussie acct into their acct via b/pay,then book a deal, they will advise of the Baht rate before the transfer is complete. Fairly easy.
