Well it looks like I'll be able to take a small vacation soon.Like in a few weeks time.But not soon enough.Land Of Smiles definitely on my mind. However,airfare seems to have gone up like crazy.I've checked around online but can't really find anything good.I know it will be worth it when surrounded by beautiful ladyboys and having my hands full... But are there any sites where cheap airfare is to be found,some I don't know about?I would be flying out of Los Angeles.Thanks for any info.

I am going to Pattaya in December. I bought my ticket from Expedia.com in late August. For 10 nights at the Fraser and airfare from Dallas TX, the cost was around $1600. I think thats a good deal, however, if I try to book the same flight today and same hotel on the same dates, the bill is well over $2500. I guess I got lucky when I bought my tickets.
The cost does fluctuate from day to day. Keep trying, you may get lucky and get a good rate.
By the way, there is a discount when you get the hotel and airfare together. Purchase them as a package deal. I don't know if that helps you or not.

The longer you wait the more it will cost. December is HIGH season and the dollar loses to the Baht on a daily basis. If the Republicans win today the stock market might rebound and the dollar rise but don't expect that to last. Buy a ticket tomorrow is my advice.

I waited to long and paid twice what I paid last December... In the end I thought... what do I want... my dollar or to see two friends get engaged.

I will cry about this next year when I'm back home and my bank account is empty. But, right now I couldn't be happier.

All of the major sites will give you the same prices give or take a couple of bucks.

One possible suggestion for LA departure.. go straight to ANA site... If I recall correctly they had a deal from there (LA)

Yeah,thanks.I've checked alot of sites and they all seem to be about $400.00 more than last year.Well at least booking a hotel along with the airfare comes out as a better deal.I'm not going to miss Thailand regardless.

What price have you found? I just looked at Kayak for the hell of it using dates 12/16 to 12/22 and Delta with 2 stops is $1775 and with 1 stop $1804. ANA Airlines has a flight, same dates for $1364. I'm flying to BKK next Tuesday from Atlanta, but I got the flight about 6 months ago. $1083 with Korean Airlines.

You never gave your travel dates but one site you might try would be www.flightcenter.com. I just punched a couple of arbitary dates for December and came up with $1100.10 (taxes included) from LAX to BKK with China Airlines through Taipei. I am not sure what you paid last year so I don't know if that is a high price or not.

I saw those flights but one of them had a 31% on time arrival . Ok, if your connecting flight is the next day and you want to see a bit of China on the way

Try 1stoptravel.com left from NH and went to Bangkok stayed two day then flew to Phuket and back to bangkok 15 days later spent 5 days in bangkok then back to NH for 1019.00 taxes included checked there site today and they listed 750.00 from LAX starting late November you may want to check them out. If you call ask to talk to Vanita she has found be deals as low as 775.00 round trip from NH in the last 3 years.

this is what i did ..
I booked the flight ONLY with the Auto CLub of Southern California ..
Thai Air .. LAX to BKK .. DIRECT flight .. NO hassles .. it leaves at 9:30 pm and arrives 6:30 am ..
From the Bangkok Airport to Pattaya ..
i take the BELL BUS ( new & a/c ) to Pattaya bus station ( about 2 hrs ) ..
Then i take their Free shuttle to the hotel.. the price is only 200 bht ( 6 bucks )
I like staying at Robin's Nest hotels .. Robin takes good care of you ..
he will get you a room .. NO joiner fees ..NO hassles .. and they are close to it all ..
I also like the Queen Victoria Inn on Soi 6 .. Same same ..No hassles ..
A room on the second floor with a view of Soi 6 .. nothing like it .. that's for sure ..

I booked from UK to BKK in May and it was £800 now its £1400 on the same carrier, the split or multi flights are only way you may get price down. Prices at Xmas are crazy, but then it is probably the best place in the world to be at Xmas if you like Ladyboys lol!

Good price mate with a great airline. I see Kuwait Air are doing good rates and if you are flying from Scotland, Air France are doing a return price of £540 (which is superb from Scotland)

Thought i got a good deal with Jet airways traveling from LHR via Mumbi ( wait 1hour 30mins) then on to Bangkok arrive in bangkok 7-40am on the 1st Jan 2011.... leave LHR on 31st at 10-30am on the 31st...... Return on 30th Jan.... COST £500 good deal as traveled on JET befor and NO complaints

Have flown with Kuwait in Feb returned March best deal i ever got cost £367 return and no complaints infact planes where almost empty and jumped in seats next to exit door on both flights there and back was a sweet

Am I the only mug who flies with British Airways? They do have frequent offers though - my return flight LHR-BKK direct on 23 March, returning 19 April, is costing me £650.
