For those of you who like to operate on a low budget, here's some information collected in the last few hours:

The Green View Serviced Apartments at www.the greenviewpattaya.com is a pleasant-looking greenish-colored building and has no problem with LB guests. Rooms go for 900 bht per night. Phone is 081-255-5521; landline is 038-489-071. The owner speaks a little english and she encourages prospective guests to use the website. Hotel tries to maintain a quiet atomosphere. Security man at night only. Front desk safe deposit boxes. On Moo 10, Soi 15 WS.

The Top Thai Hotel is 600 baht per night, at Moo 10, Soi White Rose. Phone is 038-422-630-1. Front desk safe deposit boxes. Security man. Manager speaks some English and told me no problem with ladyboy guests.

PN Inn. Nice, basic rooms, at 400 Baht per night, desk clerk speaks English. Front desk safety deposit boxes. On Moo 10, up from Walking Street on the alley past the P.72 Hotel. No problem with Ladyboy guests.

There's a dirt-cheap decent laundry half way up Moo 10 on the right hand side up from walking street. Laundry was 60 baht for 1 pair underwear, socks, and 2 polo shirts.

Dream Hotel. Formerly the Nice Hotel. 950 baht for deluxe room. No problem with Ladyboy guests. Internet in lobby is free for guests (2 stations). Also, free wi-fi in rooms. On Pratumnak Road near Noo 10. Good kitchen.
The road is being torn up in front of the hotel and no southbound traffic. phone is 038-420-771,038-420-774.

I haven't stayed in any of these places recently. I did stay in the Nice Hotel in the mid-1990's and likewise the PN Inn.

As for the P-72 hotel, I stayed there several times in 2005, before the rooms were remodeled and a lift put in. I didn't check with them about ladyboy guests, but their 2 rooftop suites go for 1000 baht this time of year. What is great about those suites is that you can use the rooftop area, with a great view of the bay. There are 2 tables up there so you can sit up there and look out over the bay. The lights are beautiful at night. There is a little noise from the Lucifer Disco accross the street.

I also checked out J House on Beach Road. There is no lift, and it is a climb to the 800 baht seaview rooms on the 4th floor. No balcony, just a window view. The window opens. The rooms are basic--more of a guesthouse. Room doors weren't real secure and several of the guests I saw looked edgy. Rooftop swimming pool is nice but all in all, I can't recommend it as I can the others listed here.

Nice list Hunter!

Just a clarification though, Moo 10 is a big geographic area that covers much of South Pattaya.

Thanks for the vote.

I'll amend this in a few days with comments on several more hotels on the edge of Walking Street, the Serene and the Honey Lodge. B)

Swine Canine: Many thanks for the clarification about Moo 10. I used the addresses off of the business cards I collected.

As for the inexpensive laundry shop, it is on the same alley as P-72, as one walks away from Walking Street.

Another option is the Serene Hotel, located between Beach Road and Second Road. To get to the hotel from either of these roads, you must pass through the Serene Shopping Plaza and it's a long walk past the merchandise displays. These are not 24-hour entrances

I found a better option is to enter off the hotel's Pattayaland Soi 3 entrance(in Boy's Town). The hotel has a small beer bar (The Serene) facing Boy's Town and adjoining Le Cafe Royale. The beer bar is mostly staffed by gay boys, including at least one cute boyfem.

The hotel has a few "seaview rooms" for 900 baht. The seaview rooms are basic and adequate, large with a good layout and some interesting furniture, smelled musty, but the view of the bay is great. I don't think the hotel gets much business beyond short time customers with gay boys from Boy's Town.

The Serene Hotel is better than J House, notwithstanding the fact that the latter has seaview rooms and a roof top pool. The Serene has a lift (J House does not) and it is closer to Walking Street, reasonably priced, close to the eating and drinking establishments of the Pattayalands 1, 2 and 3, and the seaview rooms have a great view.

The Serene is at 554 Beach Road, phone numbers are 038-710-132-5, and email is serenepattaya@yahoo.com. I've posted a photo of the Serene seen from Beach Road. The seaview rooms are on the upper floors and the glass paneling provides the sea view.

As with many of the inexpensive hotels I've mentioned here, the best way to get a room is to either show up in the early afternoon and check out the room before moving in, or call ahead--just be prepared for the rudimentary English language abilities of the staff.

An inexpensive and basic hotel on the border of the Walking Street area is the Honey Lodge. The rooms are 600-700 baht per night. This hotel is just east of the intersection of Beach Road and South Pattaya Road. The phone numbers are 038-429-133, 038-429-716, and 038-710-186.

The Honey Lodge has a very nice swimming pool. The rooms are basic, clean, have windows and are of adequate size. There is a small restaurant on the premises. From the hotel, it is a very short walk to the entrance of Walking Street.

The Honey Lodge has been around since at least 1992. I haven't stayed there but I've walked by it many times over the years.

I'm not certain that the Honey Lodge is LB-friendly, but it is hard to imagine that it is not.

From the signage in the lobby, the Honey Lodge appears to be favoured by German-speaking guests.

Yes it is LB friendly having stayed there once a few years ago.
From what I've seen there I think it's anything friendly, the reception staff don't seem to give a fuck who comes back with you.

PN INN ?? It advertises as a quiet place?? How many floors up?? elevator?? What soi is it on?

I can deal with it only having a safe deposit box (as long) as I can get access to it anytime.even..
late-late night.

Has TV and said, 20 foreign channels..hopefully, some in English.

But, do they have a frig.? a water-boiler-Can I can make coffee? in room..keep beer cold?

I may just have to rough it?

Really like to get a review-- from anyone-- who has stayed here...more than a short time, is it OK?
for a longer stay? It is really close to EZY Bar??

Thanks for sharing this good information about Top Thai. I spoke with the Top Thai manager (or owner) and he seemed like a nice person.

IMHO, it's more adventurous to seek out inexpensive, safe, and clean smaller hotels that have some character, of which South Pattaya has many, than stay at a big and more expensive hotel.

thanx for the feedback

-i always stay for at least a month-so i have to economise on accomodation-there is an even cheaper place than top thai-

its almost exactly opposite ezy bar-its called the pattaya inn-room ok-safe downstairs...fridge..tv and wi-fi....some ladyboys use it for a shortime hotel, and a couple of real skanks live there full time.......its certainly more adventurous..............i paid 10 nights upfront and got it for 450 baht per night......its a bit shady...there was a mug shot of a german national behind the counter/a rogues gallery of people who had run off without paying-555555555555.........I asked the hotel manageress what about booking a room for next time I came ,if she wasnt there(she was the only one who spoke english)....she said "we will make room for you sir"-55555-it was only coz I paid my bill ,unlike a few of their regular clientele.

THE JASMINE hotel is across the road from it.,right next to ezy bar..another cheap hotel....the thing about that soi is ,its NEVER QUIET,so if you are going to bed sober, you won't sleep....if you like close to the edge ,you'll like the pattaya inn-cheers TB

Thanks, those are good tips about the Pattaya Inn and the Jasmine.

That Soi where the Jasmine, Pattaya Inn and Ezy Bar are situated is, as you wrote, a bit noisy and the Soi is a dead-end too, if I recall correctly.

One has to pass by the Ezy Bar to get in and out of that end of the Soi, so if someone in the Ezy wants to pay attention to one's comings and goings, then there is that consideration to keep in mind... I sometimes like to keep some distance between my room and the ladyboy venues.

Hi everyone

Does it make any difference between Ladyboy friendly and general "Joiner" ? as listed in http://pattayaone.com !!

I've been trying to book a hotel again, last time I was in Tim Boutique, but I have to keep cross referencing between Booking.com and the a.m. site.

Someone can help ?

Ciao
