It was a interesting evening. Cindy enjoyed so much. Having seen these events on TV and on DVD before, this was her first time at a major event.

Not a great experience for myself, but I did not regret being there and did not get bored at all. After veiwing the photos, I was surprised to see so many turned out good as Cindy kept gripping my arm in anticipation and joy.

Hope you all enjoy these photos I took.

BTW, merry xmas to all. Wish I was back in LOS to celebrate, instead of being stuck in Montreal with 3 feet of snow and -15°C temps.

Parting shot of my date for the evening (well...more like the 2 weeks or so that I was in paradise).

You know I actually saw this thing on youtube video's but sometimes you wish you could filter out the audience members that tend to yell thinking they'll influence the judge's decision towards their favorite contestant. :Angry (With Teeth):

That ruined it for me and I can't watch the youtube video's again, but I can look at your images capturing the moment forever! :Turns Into Heart:

Great stuff!!

P.S. Miss Japan should have won... her level of beauty is on another planet! *drools* :Dizzy: :Bonkers:

The Japanese one who got the second was amazing. I watch the show on dooTV.
It was ridiculous they didn't have a better Japanese translator. Disgraceful for the organizers.

I don't understand how that Sanchez from the US got 3rd. She was terrible.

There was a Canadian one who was quite a looker. I don't know why she didn't get anything. She was surprisingly good looking to be caucasian.

I think they throw a bone to a non-Asian every year just to keep the others coming back for the contest. With Pattaya's expressed preference for Russian tourists, don't be surprised if you see a big ol' Russian bear holding the 3rd place bone next year. :Bonkers:

Here's another American who can't believe the American got third place. I have to agree that sometimes these things are so political you wonder what the judges were thinking.

And I also agree that Japan should have won.

Great photo series, thanks!

great pics, well done. where were you sitting? i was in the upper deck and we had a great view, but not so good for pictures with the camera i brought.

i took Jane from Guess and she loved it. a japanese guy who lives and works in PTY, and who Jane thought spoke good Thai, was sitting next to us and he said no one translated Ms Japan's answer correctly. too bad, of the top 3 she was the most beautiful. the fault is actually of the pageant producers considering how many Japanese live in PTY.

we stayed at the hotel that hosted the contestants and we got to see them hanging around the pool in the afternoon, i have to say that i thought that #11 from Canada, Jenna Talackova, who made top 10 should have gone to the finals, but that's just an opinion. Jane like Ms. Japan.

again, great pics especially considering the environment.

Thanks guys. Happy to see some of you enjoyed these photos.

I agree that there is a lot of internal politics involved. The Swedish candidate made it in the top 10...but she had no stage presence at all...go figure. Granted, she did get 'Best skin' award... I think that all the candidates were measured during the whole week and some may have not been able to shine properly.

I was in the upper deck as well. About 8 rows up. Using a 18-200mm on a Nikon D70s, I was at the limit for my lens.

Must of been great to see them in a more candid area.

any time there is an event at Tiffanys and the girls need rooms they lodge them at the Woodlands Suites and Resort. impossible not to run into them all at the hotel and all over Naklua during their free time. i was surprised how many actually were up in time to make the breakfast buffet before it closed. :D

Thats the best photographic coverage I ever seen for an event like this on any forum. Tremendous body of work Ezyflip.

You must have had a hell of a camera, or you were that close to these beauties. I have to say the International contest seems more sexy than Miss Tiffany.

Korea, Japan, and the Canasians (Canada) really standout in my opinion. Lots of stellar trannies Columbia, and PI very nice. I would never go to one of these myself, so thanks for giving a perfect view where I could enjoy it afar.

Thanks for the kind words.

@Ass Splitter Jone: Just a regular Nikon D70 with a 18-200mm lens as stated somewhere above. As I've told so many again and again and again 'It's not the camera that makes the photographer.' Look at Bresson and early works of Adams, beautiful stuff done with a rangefinder camera.

NEWS UPDATE: For those who enjoyed this coverage, the next Miss International pageant will be held October 31st to November 4th, 2011.
I may or may not cover it this time. It all depends on where I'll be...somewhere in Thailand, sure enough, but where?
