Thanks, what stand do you mean? There are some three guys with their motorbike "living" there, trying to get me for a ride all the time on the way to Apri in the begining of the Soi leading there. If these are "real" taxis you talk about, where should I look for them?

db

Unless it has since gone, there was a taxi stand slap bang opposite the front entrance.

Thanks. I booked with pattaxi it was the chepaest with 650 baht from Apri to U-Tapao They were polite, on time. I booked the ride on the net but I had to call them to make sure.
The taxi stand is still there, a bit hidden but right outside April. They were more expensive.

The pattaxi guy came to pick me up at 8:30 we got to the airport around 9:20-30. It was a pretty long ride passing a checkpoint with saluting military guys. It seems for me there could be no other good way to reach this airport but taxi.

<<<I got the standard room as it is big enough for all my needs at 1,800 baht per night walk in rates. I could have booked with ''Agoda'' for 1,340 baht per night but I fucking maxed out my credit card and that option was screwed..

So I guess if agoda is your booking agent, you'll get same room me for 1340.. >>>>

No you won't. The online travel agents like Agoda quote prices EXCLUDING service/hotel charges, so you are not comparing like for like

1349 plus 240 charges = 1600 Baht. Still pretty good, but not as good as their dishonest headline prices

anyways great hotel, and you can cancel with agoda right up until a few days until you travel, also think i have accumulated something like 30/50 $ with just using them twice.
that's more or less a free night my next trip if i book with agoda

Hi Dt,
Stayed on Soi 10 for my last few days. I walked past the Page 10 hotel quite a bit and it looks excellent... stylish and all that so I am sure you will enjoy it there - there were some serious road works going on, on Soi 10 should be well finished at this stage.
I also pushed the boat out a little and paid just over 2,000 for a very nice room at the aptly named 'Sea me spray' hotel (and I did!). Hotel is modern, has friendly staff but the great thing is the pool area which has these great loungers and its great to relax there in the evening. They dont close the pool until 9 - unlike the 6 p.m close at some others. The rooms are nice and even better when someone like the lovely Sofia calls around on her moped at 3 a.m!
Looking forward DT to reading about your exploits
Regards
Wr
"Sea Me Spray" LOL! Wildrover this is classic, almost sprayed my beer thru my nose when I read the name! Awesome, it looks like a great hotel!

Buy a new slim PS3, its is lighter. :)
And I bring almost 0 clothes here, I buy everything I need local. Equipment is not cheap here.
So the whole thing is cabin bag... ok maybe a few kilos overweighted... (gets between 7-10) but nobody cared about that before.

We had a shortage of the cable TV service yesterday night at April, but other than that everything is fine (I could still see some movies with my PS3 though... hehe)

Just a hint: there is a laundry service just outside April, go out, turn right and right. You can see its portal from the hotel.
They are hmm ok in prices (3 tshirts, 4 socks = 100 baht) and pretty fast (tomorrow). I guess it is a few baht cheaper than letting the hotel service people do the same for you. :)

db
Dbow, I think I used the same laundry service and because I was with a friend of the owner when I went in to drop off I was quoted(Ithink?) one price but when I wasn't with her the next day,the price seemed to go up! LOL Oh well TIT? I guess!

Iceberg

BTW-April Suites is the nicest hotel I've stayed at, in LOS! I reccomend it highly!

I put in most of my clothes to the laundry opposite Apri Suites yesterday, and picked it up today. Cost 350 baht which is great as it will save me hours of washing and ironing, and damp clothes around my flat when I get home.
It's about half the price of the April Suites' inhouse laundry service.

quiet guy i might seem a miser here, but the laundry next to the big double sliding wrought iron gates at the side of the hotel was a fair bit expensive than the one just down the soi on the left hand side, think the difference for the same amount of clothes was about 200 baht.
also a little off track here, i thought the food in the hotel was of child portions not very nice and expensive, still used it twice though when had major hangovers lol

I can only chime in and say this hotel is great, although it is a lil bit over my usual budget. But hey, the hotel owners all around seem to think it is high season now, or something.

The only complaint I would have is that there's a lot of ants waiting in the walls for a tasty treat. A tasty treat for them seem to be toothpaste and listerine, so if I didn't clean the sink of toothpaste or listerine residue the ants will be all over it. They also seem to enjoy lb feces, as one lovely had a bit of a mishap in my room.Posted Image

The taxis tend is still there. It's connected to the restaurant directly opposite the main entrance.

350 for laundury is a bit pricey, unless you have like two big suitcases full or something.

Well it was most of the contents of one big suitcase, something like 30 shirts and tshirts, 6-7 pairs of shorts, and 4 pairs of trousers I think, for washing and ironing. As I hate ironing I'm happy. Costs half the price of hotel laundry service, and will save me hours of ironing when I get home.

Agoda dont charge cancellation fees at some hotels, but that offer isnt available at April Suites. Always have to add on about 300 baht for Agoda 'charges', but their rates are as good as any others I've found
