Does anybody know anything about the Hilton?

Like I said, this is just for shits and giggles. I'm curious what a great location, in a super tall hotel with a breath taking view of the ocean would go for.
Does the Hilton have a joiner fee?
Does anybody have anything to say about the hotel? Good or bad?
I already did a search on the forum and there is nothing posted about this hotel yet.

here is the link. they are rated #17 in Pattaya. personally, i think there are many better choices. (i have worked in and consulted for the high-end TH hotel biz since '92.)
i suggest you simply call or email them and ask them point plank what the policy is. also ask if you pre-register as a double occupancy if that waives the fee. if you will have a joiner every night and you are an early riser it may be worth telling them you want ABF (american breakfast buffet) included. if not tell them not to include and adjust the rate and pay as you go.
most hotels in TH will waive all joiner fees if you tell them when you make the reservation or when checking in. keep in mind that most hotels regardless of class once you get into the 3 stars and above will want to see id from anyone in the hotel. this is for safety reasons, not to harass or embarrass you. they need to know in case of a fire or theft. this is for everyone's protection and worth doing.

I'm well aware of how the joiner system works. I have been to LOS before. I was just curious about how the Hilton looks upon joiners.

Keep in min Studmuffin that "joiners" and "ladyboys" are two separate subjects when considering a hotel. Some may surely accept a GG, but will NOT allow a LB. It is best to call the hotel directly and speak with the front desk manager on duty. Always write down his/her name for future reference in case there is a problem at a later date. -Swedeman

not to belabor the issue - but i think opinions from anyone, BM or not, versus policy straight from the hotel, are two different things. one is an assumption based on past history, the other is current policy from the source.
what is it that prevents you from asking them directly?
they will surely tell you their policy right up front. they are a 5 star hotel and will be very point blank, yet polite with you.
the rest of my reply was to simply get you a good spectrum of reviews of the hotel. i guess i had not made my self clear.

this is exactly what i was saying ........................................................... call and ask.
further, if they reply to an email favorably, and you print it out, you then have a "hard copy" to show them if hassled.

I stayed there over New Year for 3 nights. I'm also a HH (Hilton Honors) Gold Member.
Lets point it that way:
Its great designed, the bar is a stunner, but its not that perfect like the Sheraton on the other side of the hill.
But I would recommend it to anybody who prefers to stay IN the city. Also its not that much better than the Marriott wich fits the same advantage for a cheaper price.
To be more detailed:
I booked via HH a KING GRAND OCEAN SUITE. These are all facing the boring north side of PTY. If you are unlucky and they have one of their thousand music-festivals down at the central ground, then you may forget about a silent night in the king size beds....
Further you are always listening to soi 7/8 night action.
I was really surprised, that you cant listen to the tv in the 26th floor, cauz the noise from the festival ground was so loud.
The Size of this suite is perfect. Living Area - not only a room -, nice Sleeping room and big bathroom. But the real praline of this room is your Jacuzzi outside on the balcony.
26th Floor, midnight, a nice girl, a glas champagner and watching the skyline lights sitting in a bubbeling jacuzzi - thats what i name lifestyle...
The price for all that was about 1300$ for these 3 nights. Including spa, a lot of drinks etc pp.
I will stay there again in a few weeks for a while, but i will probably be booking KING HILTON DELUXE PLUS.
Its cheaper, and you are facing directly the sea. Wich i prefer when i book a hotel at the beach.
The hotel lobby bar is a real eyecatcher. and very very comfortable to sit and chill by a few drinks.
The list of drinks and cocktails is well prepared and even rose champagner was available.
The Lobby bar is the only smoker area in the whole hotel. But that is hiltons politic all over the world meanwhile
The pool is nice and the "Separee" chairs are a funny element. (Be careful - from the higher rooms you have a perfect view
inside these chairs
The Spa and Massage area wasnt finished at this time, but the quality of the massage was like allways at Hilton the best of all five star hotels so far.
Also not open that time was the restaurant/bar Horizon at the top of the Hotel (Forget about the Executice Lounge there. Its small and the Group Tourists blocking the chairs with their towels like on a pool.)
But at the top a bar should be an impressing place with a 320 degree view
Conclusion:
Check it out if you are aware that in a place like that its not only about the room rates. May they be cheap, but the additional costs may blow up your budget very fast. But a Hotel like Hilton Pattaya will get you a perfect athmosphere with the lady of your heart.

Thank you so much for the review. Although the Hilton is a very nice place, I reconsidered and thought I would save the money and get a slightly cheaper room. I figure that I wont spend too much time in the room anyway.I'm not going to fly to the other side of the planet just to sit in a room and watch TV. I want to get out and do things.
I had a very pleasant time at the Fraser last time I was there and I think I will give them my business once again.
