Thanks, guys. I'll be sure to drink at least one shot to each of you. Watch for my report when I get back.

I would like to add one small thing. Since it is a little bit out of the way, it was quiet the first time I was there. Half way through, another group of 3 people joined us. Second time around had more people inside and had a better vibe. All this to say that I would invite friends to come along. The more the merrier.
Oh...watch out for your camera and/or phone. The shift from -5° to 30° will create alot of condensation. I was a worried when my iPhone was covered with dew. Simple wipe fixed it, but still...

I have been past it on a bike quite a few times when I stayed at the Nova gold a couple of trips ago.
I will try and get some pics when I am there.

I hope you have a great time! In the end, I decided not to go there. It's the kind of thing where you really need to want to drink a lot, and I decided against this. Might be a fun place to go with a small group of friends who all want to get plastered, though. Just not my thing. We stayed at the hotel, so I had a look inside the bar. Seems like it was often empty, or nearly so; then a tour bus would show up with a group and it would be full.

Is 20 minutes all you get? Barely enough time to get a beer in, then again, I am unlikely to have my real cold weather gear with me. Not exactly the same program as tequila on the ski lift.
Only problem is that in that cold, her talliwhacker is going to shrivel up to nothing. I'm going to have to work a lot harder that night.

I don't know, Lost. I took my GF to the Snow Dome at the Chiang Mai Zoo. She had never seen snow before, and had never, ever been that cold. You actually get to go down a slide on inner tubes in the snow dome.
If I recall, mind you this was over a year ago . . . if I recall . . . everything worked just fine when we got back to the room.

Cheers mate, I will do a little blog on the place when I am over in September It looks like the sort of place to bring a girl if it's half empty, although I cant imagine any Thai girl would want to hang around in a -5 bar, might be a place to have a few cocktails to start the night in style.
Thinking about it the thought of having a plush cocktail in Pattaya doesnt sit right??? But hey it's a holiday right so nothing wrong with having a bit of a spend up...
Thanks again for reminding me about this place, be good to check out somewhere a bit different.

It's fun if one has a Thai along, but it's fuck-off cold.

I like the sound of that one. I'm not really into the getting smashed either. It would certainly be somewhere different to take the girl to.
Must keep that Snow Dome in mind as well for next time I get to Chiang Mai.

Vodka......My last social disaster involved a Bangkok nightclub, blood spurting from hole in my chest, unconsciousness, and a struggle to get out of an ambulance.
Its not how much Vodka you can drink in 20 minutes but what happens 20 mins later.
