Budget Pattaya Hotel Recommendations

1. My current favorite is the Diana Dragon on Soi Diana. Older property having large rooms with wet bar and electric kettle; strong WiFi; free computer with Internet in the reception area. Free breakfast buffet during the high season. Only negative for me is that rooms are bright in the morning so I hang towels and clothes to block the light.
2. Golf Club Soi LK Metro. Spotlessly clean rooms with free tea and coffee and electric kettle, DVD player, locking cupboards (good for storing notebooks and valuables). They specialize in golf tours. The WiFi only worked for me in the bar; they will even let you use their notebook while in the bar.
3. Skytop 2nd Road. Just 100 meters from Soi 6, ADSL, Internet cafe, and back door entrance after 2AM.
4. Stags Head Soi LK Metro. Budget hotel with an outside entrance, locking cupboards, DVD player and weak WiFi.
5. Kilkenny Soi LK Metro. Large rooms with locking cupboards; outside entrance after 2AM, DVD player, strong Wifi and free Internet in the bar.
6. Target Regency Soi Buakao. Large rooms, strong WiFi, outside entrance. Half price mixed drinks all day. A little bit of noise from the street and beerbar behind it.
7. Eastiny properties. Clean, modern rooms.
8. Sabai properties. Same as the Eastiny properties.
9. Sawasdee properties. Budget hotel chain.
10. Rabbi's Guest House Soi Buakao. Large, quiet rooms, good WiFi.
I've never stayed in South Pattaya or Jomtien.
Three hotels I do NOT recommend are Sunshine on Soi 8 (too noisy), Apex and Diana (old and run down; Both have good buffets however)

as i eat there quite often - good thai food there. The problem with the light is a common one also - might be an idea to buy
blackout lining and attach to curtain - i usually try to get a room facing away from the sun in the morning.
I use new nikom court 750b on soi lengkee - nice staff and spotless. also VM terrace on soi buakhao is not bad value and has
good staff and a good location for soi 8 / 7.

So many choices, particularly in the low season that I would not risk the hassle.

It doesn't have a pool and the surrounding area is just a desolate looking sideroad off of Jomtien beach but for that price you can't really grumble, room was massive.

Even if LB's were not a target for the trip, I would not stay at Eastiny because they are predjudiced. There are loads of hotels in that price range. Many are nicer. Most are Ok with our girls. No reason to support them at all.
That and I may decide to change targets.

If I want to take my LB to breakfast, and I usually do, I don't want to hear that kind of crap from the hotel. My guests are my business if they can't respect that, there are planty of other places to spend my baht.

Well said, Sir. Contrary to what many people may think, ladyboys sometimes have to put up with a lot of hassle and prejudice from other Thais. Sure, there are ladyboy thieves and vagabonds, but the majority are not.
