Just my luck my trusted taxi cannot make the trip. Seems his car was stolen!!!

Anyone have a connection for a trusted taxi that wont fleece me?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,
ET :Bonkers:

Not to be a cheap ass, but if you arrive in the day time, you can drop down to the bottom floor and take the bus for $ 125 b..... and the other service is a bit more but they will deliver you to the door of your house or hotel. Both bus companies can be found on same area just in front of the food stalls.

Just saying it's such a big difference between taxi and bus. :Tongue Out:

If you don't mind paying a few baht more for an agency try Champion Tour & Travel. They also speak German, some of them are from Germany and they are accurate like Germans. I've booked six transports so far (to the airport or to somewhere else) and the driver always arrived ~15 minutes early.

Where are they? Enter Soi Postoffice from Beach Road. You can see them on you right hand side. :)

I used Apple on last trip, and a couple of my friends swear by her.

pj-transport@hotmail.com

Door to door Bangkok Airport to Pattaya hotel 1100 baht including all tolls.

Apple is very good, she hires good drivers that won't freak you out driving 200 miles per hour. She's super sweet and deserves a break - had brain cancer or tumor but appears to be surviving/recovering.

I used PT taxi and they were good. Took us from the airport to the Avalon in Jomtien for 1100B. No complaints and on the return they had a minivan..

had a bit of a hiccup with pttaxi this time - they forgot to book the taxi even though they said they had done
it in the reply email. they got a taxi round within 10 mins though so that wasnt too bad - made me think about it
for the future though - maybe will stay near the airport next time on last day.

I hooked up with a driver from PT and he took care of me and several mates who arrived at different times. Picked up a lady in BKK and brought her to LK and the back and played along with me. he bailed me out of an uncomfortable situation so the moral is... if you get one you can trust. I have also been scammed a few times too.

Cheers, ET

I always use ptaxi. Last trip i was going via Dubai and was booked for mid-day. After too many red wines and 3 sleeping pills on the first leg from Newcastle, I fell asleep in Dubai and missed the connecting flight. Had to wait 5 hours for the next flight. Managed to cancel the first taxi and book one for 6pm. They were there waiting for me. BTW, £75 for a new ticket.

I always stay at PBR and just get them to arrange it for me because I am to damn lazy to do it myself. 1300 baht, is not the cheapest, but 300 baht is worth it to get someone else to do the work, lol

Lately I just go out the door from the airport and walk to the street where the parking garage is. On that road I get a taxi for 800b including transfers. The taxi driver told me that they live in Pattaya and they are looking for a fare back.

I am wondering if the flood situation is interfering with taxis now as I have been in correspondence with someone called Chana and had not heard back in 5 days - but did get an e-mail from her in the middle of this post - so maybe this is a go at 1200 baht including tolls. If this fails I'll try one of the recommendations above

I have had very bad experiences with both Mr. T and PBR drivers.

I get in late and want a driver who show up, is on time, and makes the trip non-stop using toll roads - getting in that first night while many venues are open is paramount - price is secondary.

I have hired drivers off the arrivals level at the airport and have ended up on milk runs through ChonBuri and other poor outcomes. Also, I have found cabs thin on the ground if the plane is delayed and I get in in the early AM.

So I'd like to book with someone reliable.
