When I'm arriving after a journey of less then 6 hours and at a convinient time I always use the Bell Bus services. It's a no brainer, 200 bht, easy to find as they have a staffed desk in a non crowded part of the airport. Simple to book online with clear confirmation, and never any fear that they won't be there. The buses have always run to time in my experiences, and it's a fairly painless and quick experience. For 200 bht they take you from door to door, dropping you off at your hotel after changing to a mini van at the bus terminal.

The journey works as well the other way, picking you up at your hotel and taking you to the airport for 200 bht. It's one of those 'don't knock it until you try it' thingys. Most people who have used the bellbus will swear by it, as with the Pattaya/Bangkok City Mini 97bht minivans.

If I'm travelling at awkward times or with others I'll take ataxi. And for me it's always PT Taxi. They have an office on 3rd road close to Pattaya Tai, so you know where to go if you have any problems and can make your bookings clearly in person. There's something about the Mr T counter on Soi Diana that never fills me with confidence..
