Ok... so i went to LOS in nov 2009 and stayed at the Areca lodge for 2 weeks... which was decent enough... However I am coming back this year in october for 2 weeks... and I am looking for a different, nice hotel...I have kind of set myself the following criteria

* I am looking at a top end of 1500 per night MAX
* I would quite like a pool
* Free wifi in the hotel and preferably in my room as well.
* obviosuly LB friendly with no extra charges for more than one guest :Umbrella:
* I want to be quite close to the action.

I am liking the look of flipper lodge to be honest.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Its got to be the Pattaya Bay Resort, it fulfills all of your required criteria, you should also be able to book the low season price as well as the get two free nights if you stay more than 12 nights. For 1500 a night you would be able to upgrade to their superior room, happy hunting!.

there is a new areca lodge which is between the old one and the avenue - price is around what you are looking for and may be specials at
that time. also LK metropole and LK renaissance may be options as they are also on soi diana.

August suites mate, Stayed there 7 times or so, On the website they may quote a bit on the high side, but it is worthwhile if you are interested to send an e-mail with your proposed dates and asked them what price they can do for you.

Just had a look at the Pattaya Bay Resort webpage and it sais you've got to pay 500baht to bring a guest back.It doesn't sound much but i dont want to pay anything additional after renting a room.

Black Thai, you may have misread - this is copied from their site today:

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ:

Q: Are you joiner/over-night guest friendly?
A: Yes, all joiners or over-night guests are always welcome with a smile by all of our staff.

Q: Is there an additional charge for joiners/over-night guests?
A: All of our rates quoted are for 1 or 2 persons sharing the same room. Therefore, if a single guest brings back a joiner, there is no additional fee. If you have a third person in the room, there is an additional charge of 500 baht per person, per night.

Q: Are joiners/over-night guests required to register?
A: Yes, Thai law requires that all guests must be registered, both foreign and Thai nationals. Thai law also requires all of its citizens carry an official identification card on them at all times once they reach the age of 15.

However, last time I stayed there (almost two years now) I brought back more than one guest and was not charged extra, despite this being the written policy then.

On my first visit I selecred the Pattaya Bay Resort because they had a service to pick me up at the airport abd since I had no idea what I was getting into I wanted some mental security. The people were great, the rooms nice and it was a shock that the desk called my room to check on me when my LB date left. I have tried other hotels since then but on this June visit I staying there again.

You read wrong somehow this place for me is perfect no fee for bringing lb or gg back, the other day I took lb for breakfast here with no extra charge ! If you don't walk out with lb they ring to see if you are ok but me I always walk them out and to the mopeds or cash machine ! Lol

Ha ha nice one Billy.
For me cheaper guest house is ok if you are experienced and happy for maybe less quality and security. Out of the way ???? 2 mins walk la bamba and stringfellows and only 1 min from a moped to take you anywhere.
For my first trip I am happy, yesnext time I might stay somewhere else but I have learned so much, wherever people stay the service should be great it's just bm's individual opinions

Billy - flipper hotel looks really nice... I would rather pay a bit extra for a decent location.
