Thai Fried Chicken

After reading Deepthroats TR a while back, I decided on my First Memorial Deepthroat Lolita's run late one morning. After a thorough cleaning of the pipes by Ning, I stumbled upon a lady selling fried chicken wings from a fryer cart on the street. I thought a couple wings would be a tasty snack after such a good start of the day. So I bought 2 at 15 baht each, and damn were these not the crispiest wings I ever had! Of course by the time I finished and wanted some more, she had disappeared with her cart through some wormhole that only those cart operators know of. i looked up and down Soi Diana, but she was gone.
So a few days later I went for the Second Memorial Deepthroat Lolita's run with the "expectation" of finding the chicken lady again. And while Lolita's fit the bill, I walked around for a half hour around LK Metro looking for the chicken lady with no luck.
Move forward 1 week and I've checked into the Stag's Head GH on LK, a great but noisy room in the front with 2 balconies. Just as I am about to take my bags up to my room, the chicken lady appears through the wormhole in front of the Stag's Head, honking her horn. I drop my bags and get 60 baht of wings and they are even better than the first time (perhaps because I wasn't in a post BJ euphoria).
So now that I know her timing in the cart worker space/time continuum, I know to be dressed with baht in hand between 11:45 and Noon. She's now caught on to my addiction, parks in front of the Stag's Head below my balcony and honks her horn like a siren call to clog my arteries. It is not so much the flavor of the chicken but the crispiness that puts it over the top. I'm sure whatever it is will have me stroking out in a short time room unless I change hotels again soon.
Soi 6/1 6.1 Herbs and Spices Fried Chicken Cart
Now this cart is not as elusive as LKMCFC, but damn the spices this lady uses are truly delicious.
After a draining short time in So What, and maybe a couple too many Coke and SangSoms, I needed to eat something. I walked out the back to 6/1 to avoid the cacophony of walking down Soi 6 (or maybe the temptation of doing another ST too soon and stroking out from aforementioned wings) and saw a few carts. The first one was those fried doughnuts, pass, second one behind Spider Girl Bar was selling something I couldn't figure out and the next one had fried chicken leg/thighs.
Now the lady selling the chicken here did not inspire confidence by her demeanor. She looked like a con leaning against the fence in the workout yard at a prison. But I really didn't want to deal with Soi 6, so I pointed at my selection and was off to the beach to have my snack. I took one bite and I turned around to head all the way back up 6/1 for more. When the ladies at So What saw me come back they assumed I was coming back to the bar, only to see me stop at the chicken cart again. Of course they gave me a ton of shit for this.
So I bought them some chicken too and told them how great I thought it was. Those that dared try it with me agreed it was good, but said they preferred KFC!?!? Blasphemy! I lived in the Southern US for 6 years and this was right up there with the best of them. They were a bit surprised at my passion for this subject, and frankly I was surprised myself, so now not only did I get the name "Cheecken Maan" but one of the girls texts me to let me know when the Convict Fried Chicken lady shows up. Good marketing on her cause she knows I won't stay out of So What!

Yeah gai yang has been my "healthier" staple and I found a great Som Tom lady that is here around 4 everyday. Not too sweet, not to fishy, nice and hot Som Tom.

No they don't, all GGs, cute but there is better on LK.
The thing about Stag's Head is the entrance is so private I may never know if the place is LB friendly! I cut through the LK Metropole lot and it leads me to the back entrance.

Thanks, I think I'll live to tell the tale. I admire how you were able to do travelogue style TRs while you were here. I initially tried but found it to be futile as I think I am a little better at being at the observational with a wandering mind! Every time I tried to write I'd give into the gratification just outside the door. It will be much easier to when I'm stateside suffering the typical drag there.
I have to say Lolita's is a great way to start the day here in Pattaya, I haven't had a cup of Peet's in 2 weeks now. Was planning on the Fifth Memorial Deepthroat Lolita's run today, but woke up with the charming Bow in my bed, and she just won't take no for an answer.

I rarely ate fried chicken after leaving the south 8 years ago, because I just never found the quality and tradition in California. Popeye's is about the best I found in my parts.
I'll get a pic of the LK chicken lady for you so you can be on the lookout and make your reservation. She speaks less english than I speak thai, but we communicate pretty well. No way I'm taking a pic of the Soi 6/1 woman. She'd probably try to shiv me. I'm sure she must be wanted by authorities somewhere in Thailand!
I will do a big TR at the end of the month, but it won't just be about big cocks and painting the walls with cum if you know what I mean!

Here are some pics of the LK Metro Crispy Fried Chicken Wings Cart!
The husband, who does the cooking, the wife, who does the selling and the son who operates the wormhole...
Frying up the goodness...
Ready to eat!

Cracking post Foogy.... Wow look at the size of those wings.. In the UK we dont do wings properly like the US the size is always so small and you never get enough meat on the wings... they look amazing thats my lunch sorted for my time in Patts then..
I have a few new places to try in Bangkok that should be fun although people can expect to see them on my picture thread after the trip.
A little of topic but my favourite som tam place in Patts is right outside Opey De on soi Lenkee, they do Crispy pork and all many of other goodies... The som tam is very hot though so expect to shit through the eye of a needle if you dont normally partake..
I got a few photos below.... Christ I miss LOS... 5 STAR RATED THREAD as I do love me some wings...

I wasn't able to make it to the Soi 6/1 6.1 Herbs and Spices Fried Chicken Cart on my last trip as a certain LB in So What had a price on my head making it none too wise for me to travel along that Soi. Maybe next time...
I did find a new favorite on Soi Buakhao across the street from Pooks Swan and down towards Pattaya Klang:
Soi Buakhao Honey BBQ'd Chicken and Ribs
This is a cart where a lady slow roasts over charcoal in a big clay pot, half chickens and half racks of ribs. She bastes them in honey and hangs them along side the rim of the pot so they stay very juicy. This was usually my evening meal while sitting in Pooks Swan.

Perhaps naming LBs as miss X or missY would be a less problematic alternative for the ordinary section.
