The forum software has been upgraded since I wrote this tutorial. All you have to do now is click the "insert media" button and paste the link (not the embed code) to the video into the media URL box then click insert. No need to turn html on now either.

I'm not sure if Windows Vista has something built in that you can use to put it on your desktop (i'm running XP) If you are running XP yourself you can download Yahoo Widgets and then install something like this that will do the job. Just a general note (and not aimed at you Nate40) please don't use count down clocks from www.pyzam.com... they use malicious malware that causes problems with our forum software. Thanks :Smile 3:

Here is a quick how to on how to create a new topic on the forum. First, find which section you want to to put the new topic into. Try and find the most relevant section relating to your subject. If you cannot find a relevant section post it in the Off Topic Section and it can always be moved from there at a later date. For this example we will use the LB Chit Chat section, Click on that section to view it. You will see on the right, near to the top there is the New Topic button, click that. You should now see a page looking like this... Fill in the Topic Title Field and then create your new topic in the bog box. Once your all done, click Post New topic at the bottom of the page. That's it, you all done. Don't forget if something is wrong you can always edit your topic to correct any mistakes

Hi chaps You may have noticed that we have made some changes to the sections in the forum today. We now have a newbie section, for all who are either new to LB's or new to the forum (or both!) All seasoned pro's are very welcome here to offer advice. Once this section is established it will become a valuable resource for all prospective LB Lubbers! The introductions section has now become a child section of the newbie section. Myself and the mods will be moving relavant threads into this section over the next couple of days, please don't be offended if your thread is moved and you do not consider yourself a newbie, it will have been moved because your thread is so good and informative that we think that every newbie should read it We also now have a hotels section. Hopefully we won't get too many hotels in there that are not LB friendly! Again, once this is established it will become a valuable resource for all of us when we are looking for hotels to stay at. The section is divided into a general hotels section then Pattaya and Bankok/rest of Thailand sub sections. We have also added a new sub section into the party section. "What's going on & who's coming to town" is for public events that are happening in Pattaya and also for you to put your trip dates down so you can see who else will be in town to monger with. Don't forget to also put your trip dates on the forum calendar, if your unsure how to do that you will find instructions here. Right thats enough of me rambling on! Hi Guys The forum calendar is a great way to detail the dates of your forthcoming trips for other BM's to see and is where any forum events will be posted for all to see. If you want to add your next trip please follow the simple instructions below:- Click on the Calendar button at the top right hand corner of any page on the forum For a trip over a number of days you will need to add a "Ranged Event" Add the title, start date, end date and a brief description of your trip Hit post and your event will be displayed with the others :Smile 3:

Hi folks Thought I would create a quick how to about posting pictures. We all want to see what wonderful pics you have! Step 1. You need to re-size your images before you post them so that they are easy to see and dont take ages to download every time a member wants to see them. I use PIXresizer, but there are loads of programmes available free to download that will do the same job. Take a look here if you need to download one. The best size to go for is 800 X 600. Step 2. Once you have your picture/s re-sized you are ready to upload them. Start you new topic in the usual way (or add reply if just adding a post into a thread) and view the attachments box Step 3. Click browse and that will open this box Step 4. Select the re-sized image and click open then hit the UPLOAD button Step 5. After a few seconds the file will have been uploaded and will appear in the drop down menu looking something like this pressing will add the image into the post pressing will remove the image from the post you can add text... Above On the leftor on the right Below like this Step 6. When you have finished hit Post New Topic/Reply and enjoy! Please note that if you upload an image and do not add the attachment text () into the post your image will be displayed at the bottom of your post. If you do not want it, remove it by using the button.

Hey folks. Thought i'd do a little how to on embedding a video into the forum... Step 1. Now you need to paste (CTRL+V) the code into the topic or post that you want to place the video in Step 3. Once that is done, all that is left to do it turn HTML on Please make sure you use Auto Linebreak Mode Step 4. Enjoy
